Pundit makes genuinely nonsensical claim about this Man United player

Arsene Wenger reacts to "very classy" gesture from Manchester United
Arsene Wenger has expressed his gratitude to Manchester United for what was a classy reception as the Frenchman made his last Old Trafford appearance as Arsenal manager.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho presented Wenger, who was met with a standing ovation from supporters, with a vase before the game commemorating his unprecedented achievements in 22 years at Arsenal.
He received further applause when he came out for the second half before Man United fans, soon after Marouane Fellaini‘s late winner, jokingly chimed: “Arsene Wenger, we want you to stay”.
Speaking at a press conference at Old Trafford for the last time as Arsenal manager, Wenger was notably touched by the reception United had given him.
“That shows you once you’re not a danger any more people love you,” he said.
“I’m thankful to Man United because they had a nice gesture before the game and it’s the first time I get a trophy before the game, so that’s new. It was very classy from them.”
“I don’t know [what was on the vase], I haven’t looked at it, I had no time, it was just before the kick-off.
“Now I just want to go and have a glass with Sir Alex because he always has good wine.”
Sunday’s game was less about the two teams on the pitch – the fact that United secured Champions League football and ensured, mathematically, that Arsenal finished outside the top four places by winning hardly seemed to matter – and more about the history Wenger has at this stadium.
No opposition manager has as many dramatic tales of this ground as the Frenchman: that Marc Overmars goal, winning the Premier League at Old Trafford, losing 6-1 and 8-2, the Battle of Old Trafford, being banished to the stands to produce one of the iconic photos in modern football, the Battle of the Buffet, losing some more.
Sitting in the stands at Old Trafford, watching the wily old figure of Wenger makes his way down to the dugout, I couldn’t help but feel immense warmth to him on a human level.
Forget rivalries, forget tactics, forget past exchanges, forget football altogether: this was a man who embodied class and a love for the beatific potential of this sport – a man who, at the bottom of it all, saw football as less about points or statistics and more about people coming together in unison and friendship.
He paid the price for that in results. But I will always, always respect him for staying loyal to that principle for 22 years. The English game is without doubt better off because of it.

"He's very important": Man United player gives verdict on Marouane Fellaini
Victor Lindelof has hailed the ‘very important’ role Marouane Fellaini has at Manchester United following the Belgian’s injury time winner against Arsenal on Sunday.
The midfielder has been restricted to just three starts since September due to injury and is expected to leave Old Trafford once his contract expires in June.
But his towering header, which came following a five minute period of aerial bombardment, served to remind supporters of just what Fellaini – who pointed to the badge after scoring – can offer this Man United team.
Speaking to MUTV after the game, Lindelof explained how the threat of Fellaini towards the end of the game was crucial.
“He’s a strong player and is very important for us, especially at the end of the game when we have a lot of the ball and we attack,” he said.
“He gives us some more options, he can go into the box and he’s very dangerous in there, so he’s a very important player for us.”
Mourinho has always admired and wanted to use Fellaini’s warrior-like spirit, but he has more pertinently cherished the uniqueness of his attacking threat.
For a manager who will never adopt the zip and zeal with which Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp’s teams play, the presence of a player whose style is so unorthodox – so awkward for opponents, so physically invasive – is vital for a man who prefers situational pragmatism, judging games in the moment, over an overarching plan.
And in a game that for the most part felt like an exhibition match, drifting inexorably towards a mundane draw, Mourinho used the 30-year-old to devastating effect, combining the slick wing play of Anthony Martial and crosses from Ashley Young with Fellaini’s boisterous presence in the box.
It changed the mood of the game, forced Arsenal into desperation, and ultimately dealt them a heavy blow in Fergie time.

"I want him to stay!": Mourinho confirms he wants this player at Manchester United
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has admitted he wants Marouane Fellaini to stay amidst reports of the player leaving the club for free this summer.
The Belgian international’s contract runs out at the end of the current Premier League campaign and it appeared he was set to leave Old Trafford.
Turkish clubs and even PSG were marked as potential destinations but Mourinho has at least made it clear of his own intentions for Fellaini.
The former Everton man was often made the scapegoat for United in their more disappointing days but the Portuguese manager clearly values him.
It’s fair to say Jose has gotten the best out of him, more so than Louis van Gaal or even David Moyes did for that matter.
The former Real Madrid manager said: “I think so. I think a player that grabs the crest after scoring is telling clearly that he wants to stay. I want him to stay, the club wants him to stay, I think he will stay, it is nearly there.”
Whether a deal can be struck with the club or not is yet to be seen though it’s unclear what’s holding up the talks with the player.
Perhaps it’s Marouane Fellaini‘s salary that’s in doubt or his agent is causing trouble though the likelihood is that he may be unhappy with his role at Manchester United.
Often used as a rotational option or as Jose Mourinho’s backup plan, it could be that the tenacious midfielder wants promise of regular football.

Paul Pogba: "Michael Carrick has helped me since I came back to Manchester United last summer"
Paul Pogba has revealed that Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has helped improve his game since returning to Old Trafford from Juventus in the summer of 2016.
Pogba went to the Serie A giants on a free transfer in 2012 and rapidly became one of the world’s most sought-after midfielders before Jose Mourinho re-signed him for £89m in his first transfer window in charge.
36-year-old Carrick, turning from player to coach at United at the end of the season, has been at the club for almost 12 years and has seemingly been offering the advice he once received when in the same position.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of United’s anticipated Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday, Pogba explained the benefits of training alongside a veteran like Carrick, stating: “He’s [Carrick] got the experience. He always talks to me since I arrived last year. Talks to me, helps me on my position.”
“It just came naturally in training when you see something that could be better,” he continued. “He told me about running without the ball can make the difference to win the game. I call them the Lampard runs. Outside giving the ball and then making the run, getting in the box. That helps alot.”
Michael Carrick may have played his last game in the famous Red shirt, but Paul Pogba is widely considered to be the future of the team’s spine and the advice he’s receiving now will help him surpass the heights that Carrick has hit over his long career.
