Man Utd fans react to Mkhitaryan's performance vs Southampton

Henrikh Mkhitaryan was on the end of Manchester United fans’ wrath after his performance vs Southampton in the Premier League.

The Red Devils played hosts at Old Trafford but Mkhitaryan played anything but like he was at home, frustrating supporters once more.

Jose Mourinho opted to play the Armenian ahead of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial but was nowhere near the levels the two youngsters’ perform on.

Playing out wide, fans and Mourinho perhaps hoped that he would put in some type of performance to build some form on but were bitterly disappointed.

The former Borussia Dortmund man is a far cry from the player he was at the start of the season as his poor recent displays’ continue to baffle the manager and supporters alike.

Just watching every united attack hoping the final ball isn't played by Mkhitaryan.

When Henrikh initially came from Germany, fans were delighted with the quality of player they were investing in at the time.

The attacking midfielder was arriving on the back of an incredible season and there were huge expectations that he’d bring the same counter attacking talent with him from Dortmund.

Pacy, creative and a decent finisher, Manchester United thought they were going to get the complete attacker.

However, things quickly went against Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s favour but fans and Jose were willing to be patient since it was his first season at Old Trafford.

Rightfully so, he was allowed time to adapt to his new surroundings with his Portuguese manager protecting him at all costs.

In his second season in England though, Mkhitaryan is fast running out of excuses for his poor displays and must do something to rescue his career.
