Manchester United star David de Gea has insisted finishing fourth is not good enough for his own personal targets as well as the clubs.
The Spaniard also went on to explain how Jose Mourinho is the same as Sir Alex Ferguson in a certain aspect which would surely delight the fans.
De Gea has been one of United’s most consistent players this season and is on course to win the club’s player of the year award once more.
A goalkeeper winning the award is not only testament to his talent but also to the team’s shortcomings in terms of their defending.
Mourinho has made the Red Devils’ defence more solid but they still look shaky when not protected and David has certainly rescued them plenty of times.
De Gea: “It was odd (under Van Gaal). Finishing fourth is not good enough. I want to win. If you are at United, you need a manager with a winning mentality. We had that with Ferguson. Mourinho has it. He wants to win every game.” #mufc [Mail] pic.twitter.com/JjA0aq9bTg

Perhaps it was the Portuguese manager’s ability that convinced the Real Madrid target to remain at Old Trafford when he first joined.
David de Gea has once more been linked with the La Liga giants but Jose Mourinho recently claimed there’s no chance he will leave.
The goalkeeper doesn’t look as likely to leave as he once appeared and it seems that the former Chelsea boss had a lot to do with that.
