The Brazilian has been linked to domestic rivals Manchester United, as well as to Catalonian giants Barcelona and even a move to his homeland Brazil, more specifically Palmeiras.
He has been crucial for Chelsea this season so far, featuring in every game in all competitions except for the 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. In addition to this, he has featured in every match this season for his national team too.
Willian, fresh from scoring a goal and making two assists in the 3-1 win at the John Smith’s Stadium against newly promoted Huddersfield Town, spoke to the media about these potential transfer and what he wishes for his future.
Speaking to the press, the 29-year-old said (via Evening Standard):
I am always happy at Chelsea. I really like this club a lot with my heart.
The fans can be calm [about me leaving]. I am a Chelsea player and I am very pleased with the way I have been playing in recent weeks.
Willian and Chelsea face Southampton at Stamford Bridge this Saturday, followed by a midweek Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against AFC Bournemouth at home.
So Willian is a Chelsea player and happy to be so now and at the end of the January transfer window, and he will aim to continue his run of form and playing consistently in all competitions at the top level.
