Chelsea have reportedly made a formal approach to land Andy Carroll from West Ham this month.
According to the Telegraph, the Blues want to bring the England international to Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis in the ongoing transfer window, with Antonio Conte keen to bolster his attacking options.
Carroll has a long history of injuries but this doesn’t appear to have put Conte off, as he lines the former Newcastle man up as one of his prime targets for January.
Chelsea have been struggling in front of goal recently with Alvaro Morata in the midst of a bad spell of form and Michy Batshuayi failing to convince when called upon.
Sevilla are keen to sign Belgian international Batshuayi but, if the Telegraph are to be believed, Chelsea will only allow the striker to move on if they can secure a suitable replacement.
According to Evening Standard journalist Simon Johnson, West Ham forward Carroll is indeed keen on the move across London.
