Manchester United are reportedly not paying as much of Alexis Sanchez’s wages as initially believed as his move to Inter Milan is all but confirmed.
The experienced Chilean will be teaming up with former teammate Romelu Lukaku as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s summer culling continues.
Sanchez never managed to get close to regaining the form he showed at Arsenal at United and so he won’t be missed in terms of quality.
In terms of squad depth however, the versatile attacker provided a decent body in an already depleted and youthful squad.
Solskjaer will have to rely on the likes of Mason Greenwood to make up for Sanchez’s departure so hopefully he can come good.

Certainly the fact United have to pay to get rid of a player and only temporarily for that matter shows just how poor of a piece of business signing Sanchez was.
No one would deny that the former Barcelona man’s quality couldn’t be ignored but he was a luxury signing who was given far too much money and a far too long contract.
In fact, the argument could be made that Sanchez’s arrival coincided with Anthony Martial‘s poor form and so not only did he not do any good, he actually caused harm.
