Gonzalo Higuain could be given the “green light” to join Chelsea later this week, according to the Telegraph.
The striker has been continually linked with a January switch to Stamford Bridge, as Maurizio Sarri looks to improve his attacking firepower.
Higuain is keen on trading AC Milan for Chelsea, with the 31-year-old currently on loan at the Rossoneri from Juventus.
The report claims that a potential deal has been complicated by “various payments AC Milan had agreed to make to Juve and the option to make the loan permanent.”

Higuain is currently in Jeddah for the Italian Super Cup final where, ironically, Milan face Juventus on Wednesday night.
Talks are set to take place in Saudi Arabia with regards to the Argentine’s future.
It does feel as though a move is inching ever closer, with Higuain’s pedigree making him an exciting capture for the Blues.
He will be a direct replacement for the struggling Alvaro Morata, who looks likely to join Atletico Madrid.
