Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in bringing in Tottenham’s young English talent, Dele Alli.
The 21 year old has already made over 100 appearances for the London club and has impressed Mourinho enough to convince him to break the bank over the player.
Alli is one of Spurs’ key players despite his young age and hasn’t necessarily committed to the team in a particularly convincing manner.
If reports are to be believed then Dele is with the club’s other stars who are all waiting to see whether the club have what it takes to challenge for silverware.
Many of Tottenham’s players are on low wages and are all ambitious enough to aim for trophies but if they receive neither then the club could soon see a massive clear-out.
Don Balon report that Jose though, isn’t keen on waiting until that happens and hopes to beat Real Madrid and Barcelona to Alli’s signature by bidding £179m.
In what will surely test Tottenham’s resolve, the Portuguese manager will also be addressing one of United’s problem areas.
The midfield duo of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba have the centre of the park nailed down but the attacking midfield position is open for any of those interested.
Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all underperformed this season and the goals have dried up in recent matches because of it.
Mata’s normally consistent performances have disappeared and Mkhitaryan’s early form has dipped so harshly that it’s hard to believe it’s the same player.
Lingard has only been a bit-part player for the Red Devils and it seems as though Mourinho is finally fed up and wants a top attacking midfielder in the form of Dele Alli.
