Manchester United’s talented youngster Anthony Martial has outlined his ambitions for club and country after an impressive start to the season.
The Frenchman has scored seven goals and assisted four times for the Red Devils, returning to his debut season form.
Martial initially broke into the scene after scoring a wonder goal vs Liverpool during his first season at United.
His stunning start was only overshadowed by Marcus Rashford‘s meteoric rise that only came about after he got picked up a knock during a pre-match warm-up.
Anthony though has reignited his fire and claimed that he wishes to ‘break everything’ with club and country, explaining just what he meant below.
Speaking to Telefoot, Anthony said: “I want to win as many titles as possible with Manchester United… and win a place back [in the French national team for the World Cup].”
The striker turned winger has had to compete with Rashford for first team football ever since the Englishman’s debut.
Some would assume that the competitiveness between the two may sour their relationship but both players have come out to dispel the myths.
The pair of talented youngsters have been mature beyond their age, claiming that their friendly rivalry has helped bring the best out of each other.
Despite Martial’s great form this season, he’s mostly had to put up with being a substitute due to his manager’s preference for Marcus.
Jose Mourinho claims to not prefer either player but his favouritism is blatantly obvious, having played the Englishman more times than any other player last season.
Despite coming off the bench more than his teammate, Anthony has had just 300 minutes less of football so it seems as though Mourinho is balancing the two players’ match time well enough.
