Midfielder confirms he'll be at Chelsea for pre-season

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has confirmed that he is due to return to Chelsea for pre-season training, amid concerns about his future at the club.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Loftus-Cheek was unable to confirm where he’ll be playing next season, but he will return to Chelsea before deciding on his next move.

I haven’t made a decision on that yet but as things stand I plan to be back at Chelsea for pre-season.

The Blues are being urged to give the midfielder a chance in the first-team next season following his form with Crystal Palace.

Loftus-Cheek has been a standout performance as Palace sealed their safety in the top flight.

With Chelsea set to change their manager over the summer, there could be yet more turnover in the squad, but Loftus-Cheek looks set to get his chance to impress.

The midfielder is also in line to receive a call-up to England’s World Cup squad this summer.

The Chelsea loanee earned his first England call-up earlier this season and Gareth Southgate is said to be a huge fan of the player.
