Journalist gives update on Man United's interest in Alex Sandro

RMC Sport journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United are yet to make a bid for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly pinpointed the Brazilian as his primary target this summer for the left-back position, which was dominated by Ashley Young during the 2017/18 campaign.

The full-back slot is an area of focus for Man United this summer, with Porto right back Diogo Dalot set to be the club’s first signing of the window.

But according to Romano, United are yet to lodge a bid for the player despite their interest being well documented.

Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato also claimed last week that Sandro, who has impressed for the Old Lady since joining in 2015, had not been subject to any bid from Man United as of yet.

Sandro was one of the main targets ahead of the window and some reports even suggested he could be the first signing of the summer at Old Trafford.

But while news surrounding Fred, Dalot, Toby Alderweireld and even Gareth Bale continues to spread like wildfire, the trail on Sandro has gone cold. Mysteriously cold. Perhaps this particular rumour, much like Fabinho, was merely pulled out of thin air by the national media.

Lukaku explains why this player is crucial for Manchester United

Romelu Lukaku has emphasised the importance of Marouane Fellaini‘s physical prowess to Manchester United’s attacking setup under Jose Mourinho.

The Belgian’s future has been up in the air for some time, with Jose Mourinho noting last month that he expected his player to renew his contract at Man United.

But with the arrival of Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred imminent and no apparent progress in talks with Fellaini, it is looking growingly likely that the 30-year-ol will find a new club in the summer.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Lukaku weighed in on the Fellaini situation, stressing that he was viewed as an important member of the squad.

Fellaini’s head will now be firmly on the World Cup and certainly not on negotiations with United, which have failed to engender any progress since the first contract offer was tabled in September. For there to be a sudden change now would be extremely surprising.

Mourinho has always stressed his desire to deep the Belgian, whose physical stature he deems extremely useful, but recent interest in West Ham’s Marco Arnautovic and Juventus’ Mario Mandzukic – both players who base their game largest around muscle and height – suggests even the 55-year-old is resigned to loosing his favourite fuzzy haired midfielder.

West Ham join Chelsea in the race for Brazilian star

West Ham are reportedly “pushing hard” to sign Chelsea target Felipe Anderson from Serie A giants Lazio, according to Lee Clayton.

Lazio finished the season in fifth, following the incredibly dramatic 3-2 loss on the final day of the season again Inter Milan, who leapfrogged them into the Champions League places, in the most heartbreaking fashion for Lazio fans.

However, Anderson has been a crucial and integral part of the Lazio squad which has performed excellently this season in Serie A, making it to the Europa League quarter-finals, losing narrowly 6-5 on aggregate to Red Bull Salzburg.

Marco Rosi/Getty Images Sport

Newly appointed West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini will be looking to make an addition to his midfield at the London Stadium following the departure of Joao Mario back to his parent club Inter Milan.

Anderson, the 25-year-old, would be a great signing, but many big clubs across the European leagues are looking also at him.

Cheslea are said to be keen to sign Anderson too, but the uncertainty over Antonio Conte’s future may prevent them from doing any deals in the immediate future, although the Blues will be confident that the Brazilian would join them over the Hammers if given the choice.

Chelsea defender linked with shock Turkey switch

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has been linked with a move to Turkish side Bursaspor in reports today.

The Mirror are reporting that Zouma could be leaving Stamford Bridget yet again, after spending last season on loan at Stoke City.

The French defender could be set to join Bursaspor, with the centre back set to be loaned out yet again from Chelsea.

Catherine Ivill/Getty Images Sport

The Turkish side finished 13th in the SuperLig last season, finishing near the bottom of the league.

Fiorentina are also taking a look at Zouma, with the Italian club keen on bringing the defender to Serie A.

Zouma joined the Blues in 2014 from Saint Etienne, the club where the Frenchman had started his career.

The Blues paid over £12 million for Zouma, but has spent two spells away from the Club so far. He spent 2014 on loan at Saint Etienne, whilst being at Stoke last season as the Potters were relegated to the Championship.

Chelsea stadium expansion plans in doubt

Chelsea’s plans to expand Stamford Bridge have been put on hold, with the club putting the stall in work down to an “unfavourable investment climate.”

This comes after reports Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has faced delays in getting a new UK visa, which reportedly expired a few weeks ago.

The plans for the new stadium were for a new 60,000 seater arena at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea set to move to Wembley whilst the work was going on at the Bridge.

Clive Rose/Getty Images Sport

However, with Fulham owner Shad Khan looking at purchasing Wembley Stadium for his Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Franchise, a move to Wembley is therefore in doubt.

“No further pre-construction design and planning work will occur,” a club statement said.

“The club does not have a timeframe set for reconsideration of its decision.”

Therefore, the club are set to remain at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future, with no move expected at the minute.

Manchester United's suffer huge blow in their pursuit of Gareth Bale

Zinedine Zidane has announced he will leave Real Madrid after claiming three successive Champions League titles in less than three years, casting huge doubt over Manchester United’s chances of signing Gareth Bale.

The Frenchman’s sidelining of Bale throughout the last two campaigns have promoted speculation that the Welshman would seek a new club if the former midfielder remained in charge.

Speaking after netting the winner from the bench in the Champions League final, Bale emphasised that he wanted to be starting games next season, prompting further talk of a move to Man United. Jose Mourinho registered clear interest in him last summer.

But the sudden announcement that Zidane and Madrid would part ways after three extremely successful years has notably increased the chances of Bale choosing to stay at the Bernabeu.

There is every chance that whoever replaces Zidane – Maurizio Sarri, Antonio Conte, Arsene Wenger… Louis van Gaal? – may want to dispense with Bale anyway.

But the announcement today has made everything far less certain. Zidane staying this summer would have no doubt culminated in Bale leaving. Now the future of Bale, and most Madrid players, is very much up in the air. Other targets like Toni Kroos, Mateo Kovacic, Raphael Varane and Marco Asensio may become available.

At a club as volatile as Madrid, which will undergo serious change this summer, it is impossible to predict much at all.

Chelsea offered the chance to sign 30-goal striker this summer

Italian giants Juventus have reportedly offered Chelsea the chance to sign Gonzalo Higuain, as they look to re-sign Alvaro Morata from the Blues, according to The Evening Standard.

The Argentine has scored 30 goals for the Serie A champions since his £78m move from Napoli in 2016, and Chelsea have previously been linked with a move for the 30-year-old.

Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images Sport

Morata has had a fairly inconsistent time in London so far, and is struggling to settle. His 15 goals have seen him be overlooked for a World Cup place by Spain, and if he wants to leave, Chelsea may be forced to listen to offers for the 25-year-old.

It’s reported that Juventus offered a two-year loan for Morata, who was spotted meeting sporting director Fabio Paratici last week, but that offer is likely to be rejected.

Bringing Higuain to Stamford Bridge would be an exciting prospect for Chelsea fans, with his prolific goal-scoring record across Europe making him one of the most reputable forwards in the game.

Spotted: Jose Mourinho watches £50m-rated target at Austria vs Russia

Jose Mourinho has been pictured sitting in the stands watching Austria vs Russia on Wednesday night, hours after reports broke that Manchester United are interested in signing Marko Arnautovic.

Mourinho reportedly wants the West Ham United forward as a backup striker to Romelu Lukaku, but would cost at least £50m to bring to Old Trafford this summer with his club’s stance at ‘not for sale’.

Austria beat Russia 1-0 at the Tivoli-Neu courtesy of Alessandro Schopf’s 28th-minute goal as part of the latter’s 2018 World Cup preparations as the host nation.

When pictures emerged confirming Mourinho was present the first names that sprouted up on the internet were obviously Arnautovic, but also David Alaba as United search for a new left-back before the 2018-19 season.

However, reputed journalist Gianluca Di Marzio later reported that he was indeed scouting players; CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, Krasnodar striker Fyodor Smolov, and West Ham’s Arnautovic.

This makes sense, as Mourinho is said to be keen on acquiring a centre-midfielder and backup frontman over the close season.

Mourinho could’ve also been getting to know the Russian national team as he prepares to feature on Kremin-funded TV network RT throughout the World Cup, which means we’ll be seeing a lot more of the boss over summer.

Chelsea set to battle Real Madrid in race to sign Brazilian star

Chelsea have made contact with Roma about the availability of goalkeeper Alisson, according to a report from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Chelsea are reportedly worried that Thibaut Courtois, their current first-choice goalkeeper, will not sign a new contract with the club as he wants to return to Spain.

Therefore, the Blues have plans in place to let the Belgian leave this summer, if they can find a suitable replacement.

Buda Mendes/Getty Images Sport

Roma’s Alisson, who is also being monitored by Liverpool and Real Madrid, looks like he could be for sale at the right price and if that is the case, then he’s the man Chelsea would want to bring in.

Courtois, who has been linked with moves to both Madrid-based clubs, is apparently keen to return to the Spanish capital as his family still live there after settling down there when the Belgian international was on loan at Atletico.

Alisson, who will be Brazil’s number one goalkeeper at the World Cup, would likely cost around £80m.

Liverpool line up sensational swoop for Chelsea star

Liverpool are interested in signing Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois this summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Liverpool are keen to sign Courtois if he pushes for a move away from Chelsea in the current transfer window.

Courtois has been heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge over the past few months, and if Liverpool get their wish, he could be heading to Anfield.

Catherine Ivill/Getty Images Sport

Liverpool are in the market for a new goalkeeper after Loris Karius’ mishaps in the Champions League final last week.Karius produced two howlers as Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in Kiev, with Jurgen Klopp now wanting to add a number shot-stopper to his squad ahead of next season.

Chelsea are keen to keep Courtois and their ant him to sign a contract extension but reports suggest that the Belgian is keen to move to Madrid as his family still reside there after deciding to stay up after his loan spell at Atlético.

Van Gaal slams Man Utd hierarchy for this reason

Louis van Gaal has once more slammed the Manchester United hierarchy and admitted disappointment with them after revealing they failed to get him top players.

During his time at the club the Dutchman signed 11 first team players over a two year period but is apparently unhappy none the less.

Van Gaal’s main top signings were Bastian Schweinsteiger, Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria but it’s fair to say neither of the transfers worked out in the long run.

Sir Alex Ferguson had admitted at the time that shuffling the pack was the right thing to do by the former Bayern man as he oversaw a mass exodus of players.

However, it was apparently not enough and though many criticise him now for signing average players, he insists his main targets weren’t chased.

According to Metro, Louis said: “I asked many, many times for players of the highest quality. But I didn’t get the players I wanted.

“I’m disappointed in certain human beings at United — and they know I’m disappointed.

“I am an emotional guy, I say too much in interviews. I am always authentic. You see what you see with me.”

Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind and Morgan Schneiderlin amongst others were brought in by Louis van Gaal and it’s clear to see none of these signings worked out either.

The Italian wasn’t as solid as expected, the former Ajax star has failed to nail down a spot regularly while the Everton man was moved on at the earliest opportunity.

Anthony Martial, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo are Van Gaal’s saving grace though they’re not the best examples of top signings either.

Man Utd dealt huge blow in pursuit of Real Madrid star

Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague has claimed that no offers have come in for Manchester United target and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese international has sparked rumours of a return to his former club after the Champions League final win over Liverpool.

Ronaldo had appeared to hint at a potential departure from Madrid and left his future up in the air when questioned on it.

United are said to be interested in the world class player but Balague believes he’s destined to remain in the Spanish capital.

Cristiano has often used his former stomping ground to attempt to negotiate new contracts with Real and it appears he’s no trying anything new this time.

According to Team Talk, Guillem said on his official Youtube channel: “€1billion is his buy-out clause. It’s in Real’s hands to sell him. There’s no offers for Ronaldo.

“The same way there were no offers a year ago when there was a threat through a newspaper, A Bola, that he wanted to leave Spain. It was like a joker card that used.

“They’re destined to understand each other.”

Guillem Balague though did discuss Cristiano Ronaldo’s unhappiness with Real Madrid after they offered him a contract that he wasn’t pleased with.

The former Sporting man is said to be unhappy with how the club values him and apparently feels unloved by the president.

This could potentially mean that the threats of leaving could become real but it’s unlikely Ronaldo will want to move elsewhere or for it to even happen.

The versatile attacker just won his fifth Champions League trophy and recently claimed he can play until he’s 41 years old.

Manchester United want this 29-year-old powerhouse forward, told to pay £50m

West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic is reportedly on Jose Mourinho’s winger wishlist as he looks to balance his attacking options at Manchester United ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Arnautovic only joined West Ham from Stoke City last summer in a club-record deal worth £24m and tallied 11 goals and six assists in his first year at the London Stadium.

The 29-year-old is a natural left winger, but can play on either side of the attack and was utilised as a striker by manager David Moyes for the latter stages of the 2017-18 season.

According to Sky Sports News, Arnautovic is considered to be in new manager Manuel Pellegrini’s plans for the upcoming campaign, and therefore not for sale, and is likely to cost at least £50m.

He arrived in the Premier League in 2013 after moving to Stoke from Werder Bremen and has since grown his reputation as a powerful forward who is strong with both of his feet.

Arnuatovic made his debut for the Austrian national team in October 2008 and has earnt 69 caps since, scoring 19 goals and making 16, and would surely be interested in a move to Old Trafford if approached.

Mourinho is also said to be interested in Chelsea’s Willian and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale as he searches for a first-choice right winger, which could make the potential capture of Arnautovic slightly underwhelming amongst Man United fans.

Van Gaal reveals two things he's proud of doing at Man Utd

Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has claimed that Marcus Rashord made him a lucky manager during the pair’s time together.

The young Englishman bulldozed his way into the club’s history during the Dutchman’s second season in charge at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal had placed the then unknown Rashford on the bench while Anthony Martial was expected to start the match.

However, the Frenchman suffered an injury in the warm-up so it was the young academy man who came on in his place and as they say the rest is history.

Some fans believed Marcus saved his manager’s season from being a complete disaster but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to keep the former Bayern man at the club.

According to the Mirror, Louis said to the Sun: “Rashford is a big talent. When they are talents in your time, you are a lucky manager.

“Only Lingard and Rashford came the second year, then they were growing up. I’m always proud when you win something.

“I was very proud, for example, that we won the FA Cup with United and with those players.”

Louis van Gaal was notoriously sacked hours after winning the FA Cup in his second season in charge having guided the Red Devils to fifth place.

Jose Mourinho was then quickly hired and kept the faith in the club’s academy players with Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay all playing various roles this season.

With the Portuguese manager achieving 6th place in his first season in charge, some fans have asked the question- what could’ve been with Van Gaal had he stayed on.

Chelsea target offered new contract by his club

Chelsea target Wilfried Zaha is to be offered a new contract by Crystal Palace in an attempt to warn off any interest, according to Ed Aarons of the Guardian.

Zaha has been subject to interest from several top Premier League clubs in recent weeks following his impressive performances for Palace this season.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool are all reportedly considering making moves for the forward this summer.

Guardian journalist Ed Aarons tweeted out this morning that Palace are set to offer Zaha a new contract in an attempt to keep him at Selhurst Park.

The Ivory Coast international helped Palace secure a sixth successive season of Premier League football with nine goals in 29 appearances last campaign, despite having been sidelined due to injury for two separate spells in August and March.

Zaha’s importance to the Palace side shone as they failed to win any of the nine games that he missed through injury.

Steve Bardens/Getty Images Sport

Zaha only signed a new five-year contract at the club last season and has repeatedly claimed that he is happy with life at the London club.

The forward’s current contract sees him earn around £110,000 a week but Palace will offer an improved deal, which would see him pass Christian Benteke as the club’s highest earner, to warn off any potential interest in their star player.

Man Utd to conclude wonder-kid deal this week: report

Manchester United are reportedly hoping to conclude a deal for Diogo Dolat soon as they race to finalise transfers before the World Cup begins.

The Porto man emerged as a surprise candidate for Jose Mourinho with no real media outlets anticipating him as a target.

United managed to keep the transfer under wraps for a long period of time with news only emerging recently when the final details are being ironed out.

Dolat is expected to be Antonio Valencia‘s heir and Matteo Darmian‘s replacement as he’s set to depart to Juventus.

The Italian has failed to make a real impact at Old Trafford and will look to move on to revive his career elsewhere.

According to Goal, the Red Devils have met Diogo’s release clause and hope to have the deal concluded before the week is over.

The deal is the ideal signing given how Valencia doesn’t need a direct replacement and instead someone young who can keep him on his toes.

The Ecuadorian is not finished at Manchester United just yet but his age suggests he’ll be on the decline soon enough.

Darmian simply never truly challenged Antonio for the right-back spot but Diogo Dolat can certainly do so.

Argentine striker to be Sarri's first signing as Chelsea boss

Maurizo Sarri will look to make Mauro Icardi his first summer signing if he replaces Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge, talkSPORT reports.

Conte is expected to be sacked by Chelsea this summer with Sarri the hot favourite to replace him.

Sarri is still under contract at Napoli but is expected to be appointed the new Blues boss imminently.

Icardi, currently playing for Inter Milan, is reportedly going to be Sarri’s first major transfer target as Chelsea desperately target a new striker this summer following the inconsistency of last summer’s signing Alvaro Morata.

Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images Sport

The Argentine finished as Serie A’s joint top goal scorer last season with 29 goals in 26 games.

However if Chelsea are serious about making a move for the 25-year-old then he will certainly not come cheap.

Icardi has a £96million release clause and it believed that Inter will refuse to sell him for less than that price.

Man United finalising major transfer of midfield magician: report

Manchester United are reportedly finalising negotiations that will see Fred complete his transfer to Old Trafford from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Brazilian international is in England with his nation as they prepare to face off in their pre-World Cup friendlies.

It’s said that United have negotiated a deal worth less than the player’s release clause but there are add-ons that will come close to the £52m number.

Jose Mourinho previously signed Romelu Lukaku while the Belgian was in the USA and so Fred doesn’t have to be in Manchester to complete the deal.

The report claims that the transfer and medical can be struck in the club’s offices in London where the Brazilian national side are currently located.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are putting the finishing touches to the Fred transfer with Jose not expecting any complications in the final stages of negotiations.

All that’s being said to be left is a medical and personal terms which could see an official announcement come within the next few days.

Fred’s agent also flew in to the UK earlier in the week to try to conclude the deal as Manchester United are hoping to wrap it all up before the World Cup begins.

Berbatov: This Man Utd great was one of the best

Dimitar Berbatov has described Manchester United legend Paul Scholes as ‘the best in European football’ alongside elite company in Xavi and Iniesta.

Both players were at the club together between 2008 and 2012, and Berbatov has heaped praise on Scholes before, after a 3-0 win against Fulham in 2009.

Berbatov was left in awe after Scholes had netted a 30-yard volley to put Man United ahead, and said that no one else in world football could play the way the English midfielder could.

In the present day, the ex-United striker has now publicised his admiration for how good Scholes actually was to Soccer AM: “Scholes? The best in European football, him together with Xavi and Iniesta.

“There’s a reason that everyone mentions him to be the best. He was going out to training, no warm up nothing, hitting people in the head from 60 yards. He was unbelievable.”

Scholes is widely recognised as one of the most underappreciated English talents of all time, only making 66 appearances for the national team in his 20 year-long career with the last of those coming in 2004, nine years before his retirement.

A large number of past team-mates at Old Trafford and even players who have simply graced the same pitch as him constantly remind us of his quality – Zinedine Zidane famously being quoted “Don’t ask me, ask Paul Scholes” when asked what it feels like being the best midfielder in the world.

Berbatov and Scholes are still United fan favourites today, despite the latter’s uninspiring punditry, and it’s nice to see the respect is there.

Chelsea receive huge boost with top target keen on summer move

Chelsea have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Robert Lewandowski, with the striker’s agent revealing that he is keen to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

The Blues have been linked with a host of strikers recently, including Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuain, but Lewandowski is reported to be their top target.

Lewandowski has been a mainstay in the Bayern side following his controversial move from Borussia Dortmund some years ago, but it appears as though his time in Germany is coming to an end.

Catherine Ivill/Getty Images Sport

Pini Zahavi, who only recently became Lewandowski’s representative, discussed his client’s future plans with German news outlet Sport Bild.

Robert feels that he needs a change and a new challenge in his career. Those responsible at Bayern know about it. Robert’s motives are not [about] money or a specific club, because almost all the top clubs would like to have the best striker in the world in their ranks.

Chelsea will be closely monitoring Lewandowski’s situation at the Allianz Arena, with the club understood to be keen on recruiting a top-class striker following Alvaro Morata’s shortcomings last term.

Lewandowski has also been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, though, and Chelsea will certainly be met by stiff competition for the Polish international’s signature.

La Liga club open talks for Man Utd midfielder: report

Manchester United are reportedly set to have a fight on their hands with Real Betis interested in signing Andreas Pereira.

The youngster spent last season on loan at Valencia where he impressed and returned to Old Trafford hoping for more minutes.

Pereira has previously discussed his desire to play for United but appears to want the promise of first team action before committing.

It’s been said that Jose Mourinho is unhappy with the midfielder after he seemingly forced a move to Spain when the manager wanted to keep him at the club.

Perhaps the Portuguese boss won’t be able to keep him at the club once more with the La Liga side reportedly interested in him.

According to Football Espana, the Mirror report that Real Betis are negotiating with the Red Devils for Andreas in the hopes of completing a transfer.

Mourinho could certainly do with the Belgian next season but he’s correct in his decision to not force the player into the starting XI.

Andreas Pereira would definitely get minutes but there’s no guarantee he’d be a regular or key player in the squad as Nemanja Magic and Paul Pogba are the main stars.

What he would offer is an alternative to the Frenchman as United have shown they this campaign that they’re in desperate need of a back up.

Unhappy Man Utd star makes decision on future: report

Manchester United star Luke Shaw is set to reject interest from Chelsea and Tottenham and instead remain at Old Trafford.

The Englishman was reported to be on his way out of the club after clashing with Jose Mourinho multiple times and being unhappy with his match time.

However, it appears Shaw is willing to make a U-turn on his decision and will instead remain at United instead of taking up offers from the London clubs.

The youngster was signed by Louis van Gaal from Southampton with the expectation of him becoming the club’s new left-back for the next decade.

Unfortunately things haven’t transpired that way and despite reports that Jose Mourinho is on the look out for a new left-back, the 22 year old hopes to stay.

According to Sports Mole, the Mail report that Luke is willing to fight for his place until his contract with the Red Devils runs out next summer.

There’s definitely plenty of time for the former Southampton man to still make a career for himself at Old Trafford but he will be under pressure to perform.

Mourinho is not fond of the player’s attitude and has even called out his fitness issues as Van Gaal did before too.

Ferdinand wants to see this La Liga star at Man Utd

Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has urged his former club to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer transfer window.

The Welshman sparked rumours of his potential departure from the Spanish capital by claiming he needs to be playing week in and week out.

Bale scored the winning brace in the Champions League final and wasted no time in making his concerns clear with Madrid.

United have had interest in the talented winger since last summer but the move eventually didn’t transpire as fans wanted it to.

Ferdinand though has backed his former club to get the job done and believes Gareth should be tempted by the move as well.

According to Manchester Evening News, Rio wrote on his Instagram page: “Now I feel it’s up to him (Bale) to decide what he wants.

“Some will say he has nothing to prove and I understand that to a certain extent, but does he want to go somewhere and be the main man and take on the full responsibility of a club who want to win?

“Or does he want to remain [at Real Madrid] and continue in the role he is in now, as the supporting cast?

“Personally I would love to see him come back to the Premier League (preferably with Manchester United) and dominate.

“Write a new chapter as a leader of a club, the go-to guy at all times, the icon. This is what the greats do in all sports not just football, it elevates them.”

The Gareth Bale rumours have cooled down a little after initially blowing up with there being talk of the Red Devils’ being unable to afford him.

Should the former Tottenham man be the club’s only target then perhaps the signing would have been doable but Jose Mourinho is clearly chasing several players.

Bale’s asking price has shot up to £200m according to some reports meaning Manchester United are unlikely to be able to afford him since there are also still wages to be paid.

Young backs this Man Utd star to light up the World Cup

Ashley Young has backed Marcus Rashford to become a major player for England in the upcoming summer World Cup in Russia.

The youngster has been called up by Gareth Southgate and is expected to be the spark in a youthful squad.

Rashford has had a decent season with Manchester United but that hasn’t stopped some Three Lions fans from criticising the manager for calling him up.

Southgate has decided to go with a more young group of players than most supporters are used to but he’s generally selected players on merit rather than reputation.

Young though insists that Marcus is deserving of his place and believes the academy player will continue to prove his worth on the biggest international stage.

According to the Herald, Ashley said: “I think he’s [Rashford] going to cope really well. I’ve said it from the time I saw him in the youth team – he’s got a massive future ahead of him.

“He’s a fantastic player and if he keeps going the way he is, he can set the world alight. It’s the World Cup coming up and that could be his stage to show everybody just how far he’s come from when he made his debut.

“I think if you look at the goals he has scored on how many different debuts, it just shows in itself he steps up in the big games and he can produce.

“He’s definitely been fantastic for us at United and he’s definitely going to be a major player for us at the World Cup.”

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial started of their seasons fighting with each other for a place in the starting line up.

Both players were competing for the left-wing position until Alexis Sanchez was signed in January from Arsenal and there was suddenly uncertainty over their futures.

The Chilean is a top talent without a doubt but there was hope he could adapt to the right-wing or attacking midfield position.

Unfortunately that wasn’t the case with Jose Mourinho essentially forced into playing him on the left and seceding the youngsters’ match time.

Chelsea and Man United in battle to sign Barcelona star

Chelsea want to sign Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba this summer, according to a report from Catalan newspaper Sport, as translated by Sport Witness.

The full-back’s contract with Barcelona expires in 2020 and as of yet, he’s not been offered an extension. Chelsea, along with Premier League rivals Manchester United, are monitoring his situation closely and apparently want to ‘secure his services’.

Despite having both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri in the squad, Chelsea see Alba as an upgrade and as such, they’d be willing to make a move for him if he becomes available.

Alex Caparros/Getty Images Sport

Manchester United’s left-back issues are well documented and whilst Ashley Young has played very well there at times, Alba’s quality would see him go straight into the first team.

Whether the interest is genuine or if it’s just agent talk trying to secure a new deal remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt that Alba would be an amazing signing if Chelsea could secure a deal for him.

Arsenal Legend: Gunners Are "Going Nowhere" With £60 Million Transfer Budget

Arsenal Legend: Gunners Are “Going Nowhere” With £60 Million Transfer Budget

Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has insisted that the Gunners are “going nowhere” with the lowly transfer budget of £60 million (via The Evening Standard).

It was something which caused anger amongst Arsenal fans when it was revealed that the Gunners were operating with a transfer budget of just £50 million this summer.

Since then, further investment has seen that budget increase but it is still eclipsed by the figures many of the Gunners’ rivals are expected to spend this summer.

Now, Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has spoken about the club’s financial situation and the former France international is not happy.

“When I hear about the amount of money Emery has to spend, I can’t believe it. Where are you going with £60m? You’re going nowhere,” Petit said.

“With that amount of money, you can put the best manager in the world on the sideline and the team won’t change much. There is quality at the club, but not to match the likes of Manchester City or Liverpool. They need to bring in top quality players.

“I want to say to the board: ‘can you just stop bringing in young players for one year?’ We’ve had enough of young players. The club is full of them. It’s been like this for 15 years now, we need something else.

“We need talented experienced players. We need big characters and big personalities. This is what has been missing. For me, £60m is ridiculous.”

A £60 million budget is far eclipsed by some of the club’s rivals but the figures are somewhat misleading. Payments can be staggered over several years and the club has already lost some big earners like Santi Cazorla and Per Mertesacker so there will be an increase in the wage budget too. It is certainly possible for the club to grow with this budget.

Chelsea eye stunning move for Serie A star

Juventus will be happy to allow striker Gonzalo Higuain to leave the club this summer if they receive a credible offer and according to reports in Italy, Chelsea are interested in signing him.

The Argentinian international is a proven goalscorer and has put the ball in the back of the net regularly at pretty much every club he’s been at, and as such, interest in him will be high.

Juventus are exploring other striker options, including Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata, and whilst they aren’t actively looking to sell Higuain, they will consider offers for the 30-year-old.

Emilio Andreoli/Getty Images Sport

Chelsea’s search for a new striker has seen plenty of names linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Higuain’s international teammate Mauro Icardi and Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski have been linked in the recent past and the Juventus star becomes the latest name to be added to the list.

Time will tell if Chelsea’s interest in Higuain is genuine, but it wouldn’t be a huge shock if he was in consideration, such is the need for a striker at the club.

Gunners Target Speaks About Move: "Arsenal Are One Of The Most Important Clubs In England"

Arsenal Target Soyuncu Reveals Gunners’ Interest In Interview

Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu has given an interview in which he has revealed that Arsenal are keen on signing him (via The Metro).

Arsenal’s transfer policy will take on an utterly new form in the coming weeks with the influence of new head coach Unai Emery and head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.

It’s assumed that the Gunners will take on a policy similar to that of clubs like Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla with a general emphasis on signing talented young players.

One reported target in that vain is Freiburg centre-back, Caglar Soyuncu.

The 22-year-old starred for Turkey in their 2-1 victory over Iran on Monday night and has given an interview discussing the alleged interest from Arsenal.

“Arsenal are one of the most important clubs in England,” he said.

“I know they’re interested in me, but there’s nothing finalised yet about my transfer.

“After the national team camp, we’ll have talks.”

Soyuncu’s agent was also quizzed about the reported interest from Arsenal and was asked if he believed his client is ready for the switch.

“Yes, he is ready,” said Mustafa Dogru.

“He came from the second division in Turkey to Bundesliga 1 and has had a good experience the last two years.

“The difference between Bundesliga 1 and the Premier League is not as big as from the Turkish second division and Bundesliga 1, so he is ready.

“He is perfect for the Premier League. We are sure he is going to make a big impact in the first season.”

Caglar Soyuncu is a promising player. The 22-year-old has had a fine season with Freiburg in the Bundesliga and would represent a solid acquisition in a position which is in desperate need of reinforcement.

Arsenal Closing In On Emery's First Two Signings - Hopeful Of Announcements This Week

Arsenal Closing In On Emery’s First Two Signings

Arsenal are closing in on the first two signings of Unai Emery’s time at the club with the Gunners hoping to wrap up the deals this week.

It’s an important few weeks at the Emirates Stadium with Arsenal’s new manager Unai Emery heading his first summers as the club’s boss.

With the World Cup and a shortened transfer window, the Gunners will have just a few months to complete some much-needed business.

Things appear to have gotten off to a good start with reports that Arsenal are closing in on their first two signings of the summer.

One of them is long-term target Sokratis Papastathopoulos who is expected to join from Borussia Dortmund.

The 29-year-old centre-back has made almost 200 appearances for the Bundesliga side since joining from Werder Bremen back in 2013.

His current deal at the Westfalenstadion is set to expire at the end of the season with reports of a £16 million deal being negotiated between the two clubs.

Also closing in on an Arsenal move is the 34-year-old full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner.

The Swiss international is set to leave Juventus after seven successful seasons at the Italian side.

Monaco and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be interested in the player but reports suggest that Arsenal have agreed on a deal in principle to sign the player on a free transfer.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Stephan Lichsteiner are far from the most glamorous signings the club could make but they are both necessary ones. The pair are vastly experienced and play in positions which the club is in desperate need of reinforcement. Hopefully, the duo can come in and work closely with younger players like Hector Bellerin, Konstantinos Mavrapanos and Rob Holding to aid their development.

Scholes says Man Utd need to get on Liverpool's level

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has perhaps upset some fans by claiming the club should try to get onto Liverpool’s level.

The two sides have been fierce rivals for decades now and the former central midfielder has praised Jurgen Klopp’s men.

United drew with Liverpool at Anfield but managed to beat them at Old Trafford to go unbeaten against them in the Premier League.

However, Scholes is focussing purely on how Klopp’s side managed to reach the Champions League final while Jose Mourinho’s men fell against Sevilla months ago.

The Red Devils clearly have some way to go before challenging Europe’s best but supporters are unlikely to take kindly to the pundit’s words.

According to Breaking News, Paul said: “I think they [United] need to worry about the league first – the league’s the most important thing.

“They haven’t really been close for the last five seasons. They need to concentrate on that and then the next step is Champions League.

“They need to play better, there’s no doubt about that, and maybe they need some better players. We’ll have to wait and see but it’s not a given because there are so many top teams in the competition already, you have to be a special team to get to semi-finals and finals.

“Liverpool and Madrid have shown that and United need to get to that level.”

Paul Scholes hasn’t been impressed with the Red Devils all season long and doesn’t appear to be much of a fan of Jose Mourinho’s.

Though most supporters absolutely love the former academy player, some feel he’s attempting to sabotage any manager who’s at Old Trafford until Ryan Giggs is finally given the job.

The conspiracy is a little bizarre but Scholes and Gary Neville as well have both been a little harsh on United whenever they’re given the opportunity to criticise their former side.

Fred sends Manchester United fans into social media frenzy with this tweet

Manchester United target Fred has dropped another major hint on Twitter to suggest he’ll be joining the club in the coming weeks.

Gianluca di Marzio reported last Thursday that a £44m deal to sign the Brazilian from Shakhtar Donetsk had been agreed.

The club’s president, Sergei Palkin, all but confirmed the move by revealing he had completed a move to a big club.

And Fred has further fanned the flames by thanking a friend who had congratulated him on his move to Old Trafford on Twitter.

The account in question, while not verified, is indeed that of Fred’s given that Shakhtar and Brazil teammate Douglas Costa both follow it.

Man United want the move to be finalised before Fred travels with Brazil to the World Cup and expect to wrap up the move during the 24-year-old’s brief stay in the north-west for a Friendly with Croatia at Anfield on June 3.

You sense Fred is a player United, mindful of Michael Carrick‘s retirement and Marouane Fellaini‘s likely departure, have touted for some time and had a free run at ever since Manchester City pulled out of the race to sign him over the January transfer. They are set to pursue Napoli and Italy midfielder Jorginho instead, while United look likely to move for another midfielder to support the trio of Fred, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.

Manchester United make history following this FA decision

Manchester United have received a license to join next season’s Women’s Championship by the FA.

A restructuring of the women’s leagues has required existing teams to reapply for their places, with a second open application phase allowing for new clubs to join.

Criticism has been thrown Man United’s way for failing to produce a women’s team for 13 years but plans were unveiled earlier this year to unveil a team for the 2018/19 season.

They will join the second division along with Charlton, Lewes, Leicester City and Sheffield United, and will be based at the Cliff, United’s first team training ground until 1999.

Ed Woodward, responding to the club’s successful application to the FA, sent out a statement on the club’s official website.

“The board is delighted that the FA has approved the application,” he said. “The new women’s team will build on the success of the Girls’ Regional Talent Club and have the same philosophy as all Manchester United sides, creating a pathway from academy to first team.”

“We will be making some exciting announcements in the coming days and weeks. Starting a professional team from scratch is challenging but rewarding and we will make every effort to provide the support and experience for the new women’s team to be successful and to uphold the fine traditions of our great club.”

Manchester United monitoring this highly rated English youngster: report

Manchester United are tracking the progress of Jack Grealish and view the Englishman as a potential midfield option further down the line, according to reports.

The 22-year-old, who made his Villa debut in 2014, has been a focal point for the Championship side this season, making 26 appearances in total.

His fearless, driving display through the middle during his side’s 1-0 defeat to Fulham in the Championship playoff final was an example of the talent he could be.

And according to the Sun‘s Neil Ashton, Man United have taken a liking to his powerful bursts through the middle and will monitor his progress closely.

A bid for the youngster this summer is unlikely but he is without doubt a player worth keeping a very careful eye on.

There is a natural sense of confidence to the way Grealish handles the ball, weaving and charging and slinking his way past defenders. He almost scored one of the goals of the season against Fulham by simply taking Villa’s back four on single handedly.

The technical side to his game – although far from perfect – is impressive for its ambitiousness. Unlike many young English players, Grealish always wants the ball, regardless of circumstance. He has a hunger to impose himself on games.

That attitude on the pitch, above anything, is worth taking note of. And with Villa failing to secure promotion, there’s every chance he could be playing in the Premier League next season, giving United a chance to view him at close quarters.

Jose Mourinho launches bid to sign this Real Madrid superstar: report

Jose Mourinho is not concerned about Gareth Bale’s injury record at Real Madrid and has been alerted by the Welshman’s comments in the aftermath of winning the Champions League last weekend, according to reports.

The 55-year-old made it clear last summer that he would fight to sign Bale if he were made available by the La Liga side, with the Welshman ultimately staying put at the Bernabeu.

Bale has endured another frustrating season on the sidelines and made it clear soon after his match-winning display in the Champions League final that he wanted to be playing every week.

And according to the Guardian‘s Jamie Jackson, the winger’s injury record is not a cause for concern to Mourinho, who will look to sign him should he decide to part ways with Los Blancos.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s concomitant hint that he would leave Madrid – which does, when you think about it, very much feel like the Portuguese making the aftermath of the final all about him – has blown open a door of possibilities at the Bernabeu.

The Portuguese may depart and Zidane, in turn, will call on Bale to serve as the focal point of his attack; both players might leave, with Madrid using the funds to sign Neymar; the pair may both just stay and continue as normal; Bale could join United after a breakdown in negotiations with Madrid. Who knows! With Madrid and the modern transfer window, any of those eventualities are equally possible.

One thing that is certain, above anything, is that the Bernabeu won’t be a quiet place this summer, and Mourinho would be smart to keep a close eye on how things develop.

Chelsea midfielder targeted by La Liga duo

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is reportedly set to be a target for Valencia and Villarreal this summer.

The Spanish international is being heavily linked with a return to his homeland as his future at Chelsea comes under yet more scrutiny amidst a summer of upheaval.

It’s claimed by El Gol Digital, as reported by the Daily Star, that both Valencia and Villarreal are prepared to swoop for the experienced midfielder, with a return to Spain seemingly a favourable option for Fabregas.

Laurence Griffiths/Getty Images Sport

The 31-year-old sees his current contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of next season, meaning that Chelsea could look to cash in on the player whilst they have the opportunity this summer.

Fabregas has often reiterated his happiness to be at Chelsea but a move away could appeal to him, with clubs such as Valencia and Villarreal capable of offering consistent game-time to the player.

With a new manager expected to come in at Chelsea, however, Fabregas may well be a part of the club’s plans going forward.

Pictures: Man United stars arrive at England training camp

Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young and Phil Jones featured in their first England training session at the national side’s camp in Burton ahead of the World Cup next month.

All four players started for Manchester United in the FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea on May 19.

England’s training camp ahead of flying to Russia begun the day after the final but the quartet were afforded a week off to recuperate in preparation for the World Cup in Russia.

They took part in their first training session with Gareth Southgate’s 23-man squad on Sunday afternoon.

Serie A side enter the race to sign Chelsea defender

Kurt Zouma has emerged as a target for Serie A side Fiorentina, according to reports in Italy.

Local Florence outlet La Nazione, as cited on Inside Futbol, claim that a loan deal could be on the cards with the Italian side looking to strengthen over the summer.

Zouma spent the last season on loan at Stoke in a bid to find regular first-team football, but he was unable to them avoid relegation to the second tier of English football.

With Maurizio Sarri reportedly in line to replace Antonio Conte this summer, there will be yet more upheaval at Stamford Bridge, meaning game time is far from guaranteed for the returning players.

Shaun Botterill/Getty Images Sport

After falling out of the picture with the French national team, Zouma will be keen to be playing regularly when the new season kicks off, be that at Stamford Bridge or elsewhere.

Zouma remains highly thought of at Chelsea, where he was a regular under Jose Mourinho before a long-term knee injury saw him fall out of favour.

Chelsea loanee still holding out hope of making first-team squad next season

Tomas Kalas has not given hope of securing himself a regular place in the Chelsea first-team squad.

Speaking after Fulham’s play-off win against Aston Villa, as reported by Goal, Kalas said there is still a chance he can make it at Stamford Bridge.

Naturally, after Fulham’s promotion, there is already talk that Fulham could sign Kalas on a permanent deal this summer, but Kalas is still keeping one eye on Chelsea.

Andreas Christensen made it and he played many games. Obviously, there were a few mistakes but he took the chance well and he deserves to be there. If he can do it, then I believe I can do it as well.

Dean Mouhtaropoulos/Getty Images Sport

The defender, who has seemingly found a home with the Cottagers, joined Chelsea back in 2010 and has made just four appearances in all competitions.

Kalas has suffered as a result of Chelsea’s nomadic loan system that has seen him shipped off to Vitesse, Koln, Middlesbrough and now Fulham.

Since joining the Whites on loan, Kalas has become a key player for Slavisa Jokanovic’s men, helping them secure a place in the Premier League next season.

Jose Mourinho's stance on Anthony Martial confirmed: report

Jose Mourinho has no intentions of selling Anthony Martial this summer and Manchester United will only let him leave if he requests a transfer, according to reports.

The Frenchman endured a torrid second half of the 2017/18 campaign, failing to a score a single goal since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, whose presence on the left hand side has reduced him to just six Premier League starts in four months.

Various reports have suggested that Martial will seek pastures new in the summer, with Juventus, Chelsea and Bayern Munich among the clubs reportedly interested.

But according to M.E.N‘s Samuel Buckhurst, Mourinho, despite criticising the 22-year-old following defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion, continues to view Martial as part of his plans and will only let him leave if he chooses to seek a new club.

Interest in Willian and, more recently, Gareth Bale has provided a strong impression that the Portuguese boss wants to add more to his attack this summer having grown frustrated with the decision making of his players over the 2017/18 campaign.

Such an overhaul would seemingly entail the departure of Martial, who has strayed further and further away from Mourinho’s starting XI.

But he is a player with immense talent, and the club knows that. Even Mourinho knows that. And he will have the chance over pre-season, with various senior members returning late due to the World Cup, to remind his manager of why supporters admire him more than almost any other United player.

Chelsea youngster trains with senior national team following injuries

Chelsea youngster Trevoh Chalobah has today been training with the England senior squad.

ITV report that an injury to Burnley defender James Tarkowski resulted in the Chelsea youngster being called upon.

The 18-year-old joined his older brother and former Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah in training.

Pete Norton/Getty Images Sport

He also follows in the footsteps of Mason Mount, another young Chelsea star who has recently been invited to train with the first-team by manager Gareth Southgate.

Chalobah has shown tremendous promise in the Chelsea academy, but he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blues.

After playing a key role in the academy set-up, Chalobah is the latest player that will either fight a place in the first-team squad or look to continue his development elsewhere on loan.

Chalobah’s inclusion in training is the latest sign that Southgate is keeping one eye on the future with his team selections.

New Chelsea boss wants to sign Brazilian winger and club are happy to sell

Chelsea will make a move for Lazio attacker Felipe Anderson if Maurizio Sarri is the man to replace Antonio Conte this summer.

Calcio Mercato report that Lazio are happy to sell the player should a £35 million bid be made.

Sarri is reportedly keen on bringing the Brazilian to Stamford Bridge with him this summer.

Marco Rosi/Getty Images Sport

Anderson has been heavily linked with moves away from Lazio recently and he becomes the latest Serie A player to be discussed as a transfer target for the Blues.

The Brazilian, who can play out wide or behind the striker, scored eight times for Lazio this season, registering a further 10 assists for his teammates.

The Lazio star was not named in the Brazil squad for this summer’s World Cup, so the Blues will be hopeful of wrapping up the deal quickly.

Sarri is expected to be appointed as the new Chelsea boss with reports in Italy claiming a fee between the two clubs is all that is left to be agreed.

Juventus to rival Chelsea for £100m-rated forward - but the move could help Blues land a different striker

Juventus are interested in the prospect of signing Mauro Icardi from Inter this summer, but there is a catch.

Goal reports that the Old Lady will join Chelsea in the race to sign the player, but they may be forced into selling beforehand.

The report claims that someone like Gonzalo Higuain, who has also been linked with a summer switch to Stamford Bridge, could be moved on to pave the way for the Inter forward.

Both strikers have seen their names mentioned as possible transfer targets for Chelsea, with the Blues reportedly looking to replace Alvaro Morata this summer.

With Maurizio Sarri looking set to take over at the helm at Stamford Bridge, a host of Serie A stars have been discussed as possible transfer targets.

Given the rivalry between the two teams in Italy, a deal between both clubs is seen as highly unlikely.

Luciano Spalletti recently confirmed that the striker would like to remain at the San Siro this summer following Inter’s return to the Champions League

McTominay reveals Mourinho and Sir Alex influence on career

Scott McTominay says that Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson give him confidence after breaking through to the Manchester United first team and Scotland national team in the 2017-18 season.

McTominay made 23 appearances for Man United last term and was clearly trusted by manager Mourinho considering some three of those appearances came in the Champions League, including the round of 16, first leg against Sevilla.

After growing 14 inches in two years between 2013 and 2015, McTominay has transitioned from a striker and is now seen as an energetic midfielder by Mourinho, who even preferred him to £89m signing Paul Pogba on some occasions across the season.

In an interview with the Daily Record, the 21-year-old Scot explained what impact Mourinho has had on him and how the Portuguese boss travelled to Scotland to watch him make his international debut.

He said: “[Jose Mourinho] came up to Hampden for the game against Costa Rica and was delighted to see one of his boys make his international debut. He is a top manager and the things he has done for me this season have been incredible.”

Another big influence in McTominay’s career has been the legendary Sir Alex, who the midfielder says motivated him to make sure he selected to play for Scotland rather than England:

“Sir Alex Ferguson also spoke to my dad,” McTominay added. “At the Munich memorial service recently he also pulled me aside and said, ‘Make sure you play for Scotland!’. Jose and Sir Alex give you such confidence.”

United fans will be hoping McTominay can push on from a successful full season with the first team and continue to impress in the middle of the park, rather than being shipped out on loan.

Man Utd fans react to Liverpool's CL loss

Manchester United fans didn’t waste any time in trolling Liverpool supporters over their loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

The Spanish giants overcame the English club 3-1 thanks to a brace from Gareth Bale and a goal from Karim Benzema.

Sadio Mane scored for the Reds but it was Loris Karius who stole the headlines after making two costly errors that effectively handed the title to Madrid.

The goalkeeper essentially handed Benzema his goal and spilled Bale’s swerving shot in a night that’s surely one to forget.

While United fans weren’t on Karius’ case specifically, they did enjoy trolling the Liverpool fans who believed a sixth Champions League title was theirs to win.

Liverpool have been praised all season long for their attacking football while Jose Mourinho has been blamed for the dire football being played at Old Trafford.

For all the criticism the Portuguese manager has at least a few trophies to his name while Jurgen Klopp has yet to show anything for his efforts.

Reds’ supporters must start to become concerned with the German boss’ terrible record in finals but for United fans it was a huge sigh of relief to see their rivals lose.

Man Utd fans react to Bale transfer news

Manchester United fans couldn’t hide their excitement at the possibility of signing Real Madrid star Gareth Bale following his comments after last night’s Champions League final.

The Spanish giants overcame Liverpool 3-1 thanks to a brace from the Welshman as well as a goal from Karim Benzema.

Following the clash Bale hinted at a potential departure from the Santiago Bernabeu as he insisted he needs to be playing week in, week out- something that hasn’t happened for him this season.

United have been interested in the versatile attacker for some time and although interest appeared to cool down it was only temporary as his comments sparked rumours once more.

Whether a deal can be made or not is yet to be seen but there’s certainly interest from the club’s supporters, particularly after his performance for Madrid.

Gareth Bale actually would actually fit into the Red Devils’ starting XI quite well considering how there’s no real out and out right-winger.

Jose Mourinho’s side are overstocked in terms of the left flank but on the right there’s only Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard– both of whom would prefer playing in a different position so the former Tottenham man can make it his own.

Pundit reveals Mourinho's transfer plans

Pat Nevin has predicted that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United will invest in a striker this summer transfer window in order to provide cover for Romelu Lukaku.

The Portuguese manager has insisted he’s happy with his attacking options and will focus his efforts on his defence and midfield.

However, reports have continuously linked United with a move for attacking players such as Mario Mandzukic, Gareth Bale and even Neymar.

Mourinho is already blessed with Lukaku, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez as his striking options but there are rumours of his frustrations with the youngsters in particular.

Nevin believes that’s enough to work on to expect the former Real Madrid boss to invest in yet another attacker to play as backup to the Belgian.

According to Sport Review, Pat said to Newstalk: “I think there will be a striker to put a bit of pressure on Lukaku. Jose knows it is something Man United have to have.”

Though the Red Devils have Rashford, Martial and Sanchez, one can see why Jose would eye another striker instead.

The former Inter Milan manager loves a physical presence up top and neither of these players provide that.

There is the obvious argument to be made which is to work to his players strengths instead of exposing their weaknesses but it’s unlikely Jose Mourinho would cater to that.

Romelu had Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a back up this season but perhaps the Swede’s move to the USA opens up room for someone else to come in.

Pundit claims this Man Utd star is unhappy under Mourinho

Shaka Hislop has claimed there’s absolutely no way Manchester United star Paul Pogba is happy playing for Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager brought the Frenchman into the club for a then world record fee in order to build his side around the player.

Mourinho’s even changed his tactics and preferred formations in order to try to accommodate the player and get the best out of him.

Pogba had a decent debut season and his second season started with a bang before he was unfortunately injured.

His inconsistencies after that saw reports emerge of a fractured relationship between player and manager and Hislop believes the former is unhappy.

According to the Sport Review, Shaka said to ESPN FC: “There is nothing about Pogba or his body language that makes you think he is happy playing under Mourinho.

“When he played for Juventus or France, there was a smile on his face. He was enjoying playing the game. He doesn’t seem to be right now.”

Paul himself has spoken of these rumours and insisted that fans shouldn’t listen to what the media makes up.

While he doesn’t paint himself as being the best of friends with Jose, he does say they have a mutual respect and has insisted there’s no problems between the two.

Either way, it appears both player and manager will be at the club next season so supporters will just be hoping both are in form in order to finally lead their team to glory with the Premier League title the main target.

Giggs explains why this former Man Utd striker was 'perfect'

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has explained why Javier Hernandez was the perfect centre-forward during his time at the club.

The Mexican international was known as a traditional poacher and quickly became a fan favourite after securing several crucial goals.

Unfortunately Hernandez’s time at United came to an end under Louis van Gaal‘s era with even Jose Mourinho admitting he never would’ve sold the player had he been the manager at the time.

The out and out striker is back in England with West Ham but has hinted at a desire to leave the London club.

Giggs, who played alongside Javier, believes he was the perfect striker simply because he was always in the right place at the right time.

According to ESPN, Ryan said: “He’s a very good player, he was a great teammate for someone who liked to make goals like myself.

“He was the perfect center-forward because he was always in goal-scoring positions. And [he was] a great character to have in the squad.

“It helped that he spoke English, so it made him settle right away and in his first season he was tremendous.

“We got to the Champions League final and he made a big impact and was a huge favorite at Manchester United with the players and with the fans.”

Ryan, currently manager of Wales will soon face off against Mexico in a friendly match while other nations warm up for the World Cup.

Many Red Devils’ fans hope that the Welsh legend can have a successful stint with his nation so that he can return to the club as a top manager.

Mourinho is unlikely to remain at Old Trafford in the long run as he has a tendency to stay at clubs only for a short while.

'The situation is complicated' - Zinedine Zidane on Gareth Bale exit rumours

Zinedine Zidane has had his say on want-away winger Gareth Bale’s comments after he guided Real Madrid to a third consecutive Champions League triumph on Saturday night.

Bale netted an unbelievable bicycle-kick in between two Lorius Karius clangers as Real defeated Liverpool 3-1 at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex in Kiev, Ukraine.

After full-time, the Welshman was open about how he felt regarding a potential Premier League return and basically stated that he wasn’t happy with his game time in Spain.

When asked about Bale’s comments in his press conference after leading Real to his third Champions League in his third season in charge, Zidane said: “[Bale’s] situation is a bit more complicated. Everyone has their own interests and future to think about. This is a squad and nothing will change.

“As I always do, I try to do my best and the best for the team. From time to time, some players deserve more time on the pitch, and I understand a player who wants to play more. He made the difference on the pitch tonight so it is natural for him to want more playing time.”

Bale has been heavily linked with a return to England with Manchester United, Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur for a few years and it could now become a reality after his fifth season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He has been regularly dropped for Isco, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo throughout the 2017-18 campaign and might be tempted for a career change now he’s achieved everything he would’ve dreamed of at Real.

The 28-year-old would certainly balance out United’s attack, being a fully established right-winger, and it’s likely Jose Mourinho will be on red alert if he’s made available.
