It’s been a difficult title defence for Chelsea this season. The challenge of competing on four fronts as well as the immense form of runaway leaders Manchester City has lead to Antonio Conte’s men being 16 points behind City with 22 games played.
It’s a different look to the Blues from those who secured the title at The Hawthorns last season. There’s a new Spanish talisman in the form of Alvaro Morata, and Tiemoue Bakayoko was brought in as the new enforcer, replacing Nemanja Matic.
Chelsea currently sit third in the league and are currently in a close Carabao Cup semi-final tie with Arsenal, which is poised at 0-0. The Blues also have a third-round replay at the Bridge with Norwich following a disappointing 0-0 draw. As well as this, Chelsea welcome Barcelona to the Bridge for the first leg of what looks set to be an epic round of 16 tie.
So how have the Blues individually performed this season? Let’s go through the squad who have played enough minutes in order for their season to be fairly rated.
