David Luiz will reportedly stay at Stamford Bridge this January transfer window because he believes that current Blues boss Antonio Conte will leave in the summer, according to The Daily Star.
It is well known that the Brazilian defender and the Italian manager have not got on recently, with Conte saying that Luiz, along with Michy Batshuayi, will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this transfer window.
The Chelsea manager has also started choosing youngster Andreas Christensen over the experienced 30-year-old recently, and the young Dane has been performing very well, filling Luiz’s shoes.
However, even with Arsenal reportedly interested in Luiz, due to Gunners captain Per Mertesacker retiring and Laurent Koscielny prepared for a move back to Lorient, Luiz has opted to stay in West London rather than North.
This is due to the fact that he believes Conte will leave in the summer, as Roman Abramovich is said to be unhappy with Conte’s public criticism of the club and transfers.
So Luiz is hopeful another manager will come in in the summer and give him more game time as he starts football life in his 30’s.
Luiz has only played just north of half an hour of Premier League football since the 3-0 loss in Rome in the Champions League, when the rumoured altercation happened.
