Manchester United once again left their supporters feeling glum as they put on a shabby, chaotic display against Arsenal.

A poor opening 40 minutes from both sides preceded a five-minute burst of entertainment during which David de Gea made a double save and Scott McTominay scored an excellent goal.

In the second half, the quality of football did not measurably pick up as VAR conspired to deny United a penalty and (rightly) award Arsenal an equaliser.
