Kieran Tierney has not suffered an injury setback despite the reports suggesting he has in the ongoing injury recuperation (via Evening Standard).
It was great to see Kieran Tierney make his first-team debut for Arsenal against Nottingham Forest last week.
The 22-year-old impressed down the left flank, leading to some suggestions that he could feature for the Gunners against Manchester United on Monday night.
The former Celtic man was not in the 18 at Old Trafford and on Tuesday evening, it was announced that he was not in the Scotland squad for next week’s matches.
It led to some reports that the full-back has picked up an injury in his ongoing recuperation but the Evening Standard has claimed that this is not the case.
The paper reports that this is all a part of Tierney’s rehabilitation from injury and that a club source claimed the plan is for a “phased return to match fitness.”
Most Arsenal fans will expect Kieran Tierney to make his European debut for the club on Thursday night. The home match against Standard Liege seems like a great opportunity to give Tierney his first 90 minutes for the club. If that is the case, it stands to reason that the international break has just come a bit too soon for him.
