Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering placing Alexis Sanchez in the reserves in order to push the Chilean closer to a move away from Manchester United, according to reports.
Sanchez, who moved to Old Trafford in January 2018, has been an absolute disaster under both Jose Mourinho and Solskjaer.
The 30-year-old only managed 27 appearances in all competitions last season and has missed all of pre-season due to an injury sustained during the Copa America.
According to The Mirror, Solskjaer is seriously weighing up moving Sanchez to the Under 23s after concluding that the forward had no future at United.
In truth, Solskjaer has noticed this from day one. Sanchez could, in another life, fit seamlessly into this counter-attacking, high pressing system, such is the man’s brilliant engine and close-quarters technique, but this Sanchez at United feels alien, ghost-like, devoid of the essential primary qualities which make up what the modern world believes Sanchez to be.
Whoever that Sanchez at Barcelona and Arsenal was, wherever he is, seems to feel like a million miles away.
It could be an injury thing; it could be psychological. Either way, he looks absolutely shot, and Solskjaer clearly sees that.
