Manchester United reportedly have executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in agreement over interest in West Ham star Issa Diop.
The Norwegian has already improve his side’s defence with the acquisition of former Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
It’s believed he’s not quite done yet and it appears he believes the Frenchman can take United to the next level.
Diop was previously complimented by former manager Jose Mourinho who praised the scout who found him in reference to his ability.
There were reports that claimed Solskjaer’s had bid earlier with West Ham asking for Anthony Martial to return, forcing negotiations to end but now it appears they were false.
According to the Express, L’Equipe report that contrary to previous reports, the Red Devils didn’t bid on Issa but they will do so soon with a bid over £45m.
Whether that’s enough to convince the London club to part ways with their star player remains to be seen.
Given how Leicester City’s Harry Maguire is said to be worth over £75m, Diop would represent a cheaper alternative that’s more affordable for Manchester United.
However, it’s unlikely that this transfer will conclude swiftly and it may take some convincing before any deal is made.
