Reports in Italy suggest that Arsenal will make a satisfactory €50 million for two Sampdoria players ‘within hours’ (via SampNews24).
It’s a story which started to spread earlier this week and now, it seems as if Arsenal’s pursuit of two Sampdoria players is heating up.
The Gunners reportedly lodged a €42 million offer for two Serie A stars earlier in the week which was promptly rejected.
Now, SampNews24 suggests that a €50 million offer will be placed ‘within hours’, a figure which the club’s president Doriano Massimo Ferrero deems satisfactory.
The players in question are Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen who both had solid seasons for the Serie A side.
Praet is a creative midfield player while Andersen is a tall ball-playing centre-back, two players who carry the traits Arsenal are missing.
It’s an interesting story and one which makes a lot of sense. Arsenal are in the market for a centre-back and an Aaron Ramsey replacement and these two fit the bill. The Gunners have long been linked with Dennis Praet while Joachim Andersen has been a target for other English sides. The rumours are given some credence from the source. SampNews24 was the first publication to break the Lucas Torreira transfer last summer.
