Manchester United are reportedly keen on bringing in a technical director as soon as possible amidst a quite summer so far.
Fans have grown frustrated by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward’s lack of business in the transfer window with just Daniel James coming in.
Ander Herrera is also the only player to depart having failed to agree to a new contract after extensive negotiations.
It’s unlikely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy with how things have gone either after he publicly announced a desire to have all his new signings in before pre-season began.
Whatever is going on behind the scenes, it’s clear Woodward needs help- a fact many supporters felt was the case long before the summer began.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils want to appoint a technical director within the next two weeks to aid their summer transfer window and whose job will be to complete transfers as well as find targets with Ole.
Rio Ferdinand and Darren Fletcher were said to have spoken to the club over the position but no appointments were made.
Even if a technical director is hired within the time mentioned, it’s unlikely they’ll have too much of an impact of the current window.
