Maurizio Sarri believes Gonzalo Higuain has plenty to offer Chelsea if he stays at the club next season.
The Argentine arrived on loan at Stamford Bridge in January, having already been on a temporary spell at AC Milan from Juventus.
Higuain has failed to impress the masses in the four mouths since his arrival, however, with many supporters left underwhelmed by his performances.
The 31-year-old has scored just five goals in 16 appearances for the Blues, with his all-round performances often criticised.
While there is still doubt surrounding whether or not Chelsea will agree a permanent deal for Higuain this summer, Sarri told Match of the Day that he would be keen on him staying on:
I don’t know about Gonzalo Higuain’s future, you have to ask the club.
If he’s staying then we can do very well in the next season.
For a striker, it is not easy to play here, when you’re used to playing in Spain and Italy.
It’s not easy to adapt to this competition because it’s different physically.
There are concerns from Blues fans that Higuain is a shadow of the player he once was, with a youngster striker required in the summer.
Chelsea may have a two-window transfer ban, however, which would clearly impact on the veteran striker’s future.
