Promising Chelsea goalkeeper Marcin Bulka has reportedly agreed a deal to join Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain this summer, after becoming frustrated by a lack of first team opportunities under Maurizio Sarri.
The 19-year-old featured for the Blues in Sarri’s first game in charge; a pre-season friendly last summer against Hyundai A-League side Perth Glory, and impressed during Chelsea’s preparations for the 2018/19 campaign.
However the keeper is yet to make his full Chelsea debut and, according to Polish media outlet Sport.PL, Bulka has signed a contract with PSG with his current deal at Stamford Bridge set to expire this summer.
The report suggests that Bulka was growing frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities at Chelsea, with the Poland Under-19 international revealing in an interview with Sport.PL, via Google Translate, at the start of the season that he believed he was good enough to compete for first team football.
I think I proved in the summer matches that I have the right quality to defend at a high level. And that I’m only 18 years old, so what? Age is just numbers, and the often repeated word “experience” is overrated for me. As if you are good, it does not matter if you are 18 or 35.
Bulka looks set to compete with the likes of Gianluigi Buffon and Alphonse Areola for the number one spot at PSG.
