Everton have reportedly made the first move to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier, who has been linked with a switch to Chelsea this summer.
The Belgian looks to be set for a departure from the French capital, having seen his first-team opportunities limited under Thomas Tuchel this season.
Meunier appears to be a man in demand ahead of next season, and Everton are understood by Euro United to have already submitted a contract offer to the player.
No official bid is reported to have been made by the Toffees, but they are seemingly pushing to tie up a deal for the right-back early on in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are hardly in need of a new player in this position. Cesar Azpilicueta and Davide Zappacosta are at Maurizio Sarri’s disposal, while Reece James and Victor Moses are on the books at the club, too.
However, as the race for Meunier’s signature appears to heat up, it remains to be seen whether or not the Blues will push to rival Everton in their pursuit.
