Maurizio Sarri has admitted he is unsure over Eden Hazard’s future at Chelsea and hasn’t spoken with the forward about Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real Madrid.
Zidane was named as Real’s new manager just 10 months after departing with three Champions Leagues and a La Liga under his belt on Monday.
Hazard has suggested in the past that it’s his dream to move to the Bernabeu and now his idol has returned, Chelsea fans are worrying about how long he’ll remain at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri insists he’s not losing sleep over the situation though, despite the fact the 29-year-old Belgian has just over a year left on his current deal.
I don’t know [what will happen]. You’ll have to ask Hazard, I think. At the moment, I didn’t speak with Eden about Zidane so I don’t know. I am not worried because you know very well my opinion: I want in my team only the players who want to play for Chelsea, so I cannot be worried.
Hazard is reportedly ahead of Paris Saint-Germain duo Kylian Mbappe and Neymar on president Fiorentino Perez’ summer transfer shortlist, and Zidane is said to have been given assurances over a rebuild ahead of taking charge.
Chelsea wanted over £100million for the forward in the summer and their newly-installed transfer ban could end the Spanish giants’ chances of finally getting their man.
Sarri stating he doesn’t want players not fully invested in the club may give suitors hope though.
