Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly already identified the four positions he ideally wants to invest in this summer.
The Norwegian is still just a caretaker manager at the moment but it’s believed his permanent appointment will be announced shortly with the upcoming international break said to be the perfect time.
United have improved tremendously since his arrival back in December, suffering just two losses- one against PSG that was fantastically turned around and one against Arsenal.
Solskjaer has already publicly stated he has been allowed to discuss with the board their summer plans but now he’s been given even more authority.
The former Molde man will finally have an opportunity to shape the squad in his image which will excite fans.
According to Metro, Ole had an informal meeting with the club’s board, informing them he’d like the Red Devils to strengthen the right-back, left-back, right-wing and attacking-midfield positions.
The full-back positions are in desperate need of attention but what’s surprising is how the central-defensive position has been ignored.
Many, including Jose Mourinho, have felt that the core of Manchester United’s defence is weak and has been holding them back for some time now.
However, it appears Solskjaer is more interested in strengthening the flanks which makes sense given how it suits his tactics.
