Why Martial and Rashford will be helped rather than hindered by Man Utd signing Kane

Manchester United great Roy Keane recently suggested the club should take advantage of Tottenham’s current messy situation and sign Harry Kane, believing it would be an easy transfer to do.

While it definitely won’t be simple, it sparked rumours over the talented Englishman potentially following in the footsteps of Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Carrick and making the move from London to Manchester.

This has left fans debating, not whether Kane is good enough or not since he undoubtedly is, but whether his arrival would diminish Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford‘s potential.

Both players are still young and can develop into top strikers but United’s overall struggles have hindered their improvement.

Reports have recently emerged of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer considering playing a 4-4-2 to play the duo alongside each other but it’s likely that partnership wouldn’t truly flourish.

Kane can prove to be the one who can help both of the Red Devils’ most prized assets, becoming the link between present world-class talent and future irresistible force.

Rashford’s already more or less proved he’s incapable of leading the line by himself and while Martial is an improvement, he’s not quite as good a number nine as the Tottenham star.

The young duo can easily be squeezed into the same starting XI as Kane with the academy product playing on the left-wing and the Frenchman upfront alongside him.

Rashford has already formed an admirable partnership in the past with his England teammate so there’s no reason why it can’t happen on club level as well.

The argument that Kane would hinder anyone’s progress really isn’t a strong one and it’s tough to turn down a striker of his quality even if that was the case.

Either way, it’s clear even if Manchester United somehow pull off this miracle, they would definitely need to have qualified for next season’s edition of the Champions League.
