Maurizio Sarri admits his Chelsea side played “confused football” during their FA Cup fifth round defeat to Manchester United.
The holders were sent crashing out of the competition on Monday night, at the expense of the team they beat in last season’s final.
A disjointed performance has left Sarri under even more pressure to keep his job, with supporters turning on him during the game.
Speaking after the final whistle, the Italian admits the football on show wasn’t good enough, but played down his level of concern:
We played confused football in the second half but in the first half we played well.
I’m worried about the result but not about the fans’ reaction because I understand the situation.

I can understand our fans because the result wasn’t really good and we are out of the FA Cup.
I was really worried when I was in League Two in Italy, not now.
Chelsea face Manchester City in the EFL Cup final on Sunday afternoon, giving Sarri and his players the perfect chance to produce a response.
Admittedly, the Blues will be up against it, though, with confidence low and City in a superb run of form.
Defeat at Wembley could potentially spell the end for Sarri at Stamford Bridge after a drastic change in fortunes, following such a positive start to the season.
