Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has revealed what it was like visiting his former side before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived.
Many former players go back to the clubs they love throughout the world and the Englishman is no different.
Solskjaer hasn’t been shy of inviting along some of United’s legends to visit or watching training sessions or even speak to the players.
The likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona were said to be in the dressing room following the historic win over PSG.
Ferdinand still has connections to some of the current crop such as Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young amongst others.
According to Manchester Evening News, Rio said: “This is the second time I’ve been in here in two weeks and the vibe is different.
“Before then, I came here a handful of times over the past six years and I didn’t feel as welcome.
“It was in a depressive state before. So it’s changed and for that reason alone he [Solskjaer] has to be taken into serious consideration for the job.”
Ole’s influence on the dressing room has been one of the main factors of his superb management of Manchester United so far.
Many initially accused him of just being a happy face with no substance to his managing style but it’s clear to see he’s proven them wrong.
Though there are questions over his ability to succeed in the long-term, the club have been lifted tremendously by his presence.
Many members of the United squad have spoken publicly of the improvement in the mood of the players and have insisted they now enjoy their work again.
