Former Manchester United man Gary Neville believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment as permanent manager is imminent due to the way he’s acting.
The Norwegian has been involved with length discussions with the board on their recruitment plans for the summer in terms of players to bring in or sell.
Solskjaer has also done commercial work for United in regards to their season tickets for the next season.
Neville claims these are the signs that the former Molde man will be made the permanent manager of the club soon enough.
The majority of the fans believe Ole has done fantastically well and deserves the job ahead of other candidates such as Zinedine Zidane or Massimo Allegri.
According to the Mirror, Gary said: “Man United’s run has been sensational under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“He is starting to talk like a full-time manager of Manchester United – addressing fans for season tickets, talking about the players, he has admitted he has told Ed Woodward about which players to keep.
“I did say around mid-March would be a good time [to make a decision] and we are getting to that point. He is doing everything right and couldn’t ask for anything more.”
It does seem a little unusual to consult Solskjaer on the club’s transfers this summer if he’s not going to stay beyond the next few months.
The Manchester United board would be better off hiring a director of football instead if they needed better knowledge on how to run the club.
Consulting Ole doesn’t seem like a practical solution and almost indicates how incompetent the board are given how they should already know within who they will keep and sell.
Nonetheless, if it points to the former Molde man getting the job permanently then fans will hardly complain.
