Real Madrid are interested in signing Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
According to reports from Diario Gol, new Madrid manager Santiago Solari is looking to bolster his attacking options in January to turn Los Blancos’ season around.
Batshuayi is currently on loan at La Liga rivals Valencia but has failed to make a real impact so far, scoring just twice to date this season.
It is the Belgian’s second loan in two seasons, as the striker spent last campaign with Borussia Dortmund, scoring nine times in 14 appearances.
Batshuayi, 25, arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2016 but has so far failed to make a starting place his own at Stamford Bridge. The striker arrived from Marseille for a fee of £31.5m and has played just 32 Premier League games in that time, scoring seven goals.
Despite the striker’s struggles, Diario Gol claim that Batshuayi is one of the players that Real believe could help save their season.
Real Madrid currently sit in sixth place in La Liga, behind Alaves and Espanyol in the race for the fourth Champions League spot. Solari took the helm with the current Champions League holders down in ninth place, in their worst start since 2001/02.
Previous manager Julen Lopetegui was sacked three weeks ago, having been at the club for just four and a half months after leaving the Spain national team just two days before the start of their World Cup finals campaign.
With the improving form of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, Batshuayi would face a fierce fight to make Chelsea’s striker spot his own, and so may look for a move elsewhere to kickstart his career.
