According to reports from Football Italia, Serie A giants AC Milan are preparing a January offer for Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.
Cahill, who turns 33 next month, has failed to nail down a regular starting spot under new boss Maurizio Sarri and has had to settle for a place in the Blues’ cup competitions so far.
And with the England international’s contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign, many expect the central defender to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
However, Cahill’s exit may well come sooner, with Italian giants AC Milan set to offer Chelsea a fee for the defender in January.
The experienced defender could well be just what Milan need, with the Serie A side suffering multiple injuries over recent months.
Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio, Mattia Caldara, Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura have all been ruled out for a lengthy period, leaving the Rossoneri short of numbers and experience in the side.
Cahill is approaching 300 appearances for the Blues since joining from Bolton, however, his days at Stamford Bridge look numbered and his seven-year association with Chelsea could end as soon as January.
