Chelsea midfielder ponders January departure

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is ready to push for a loan move away from the club in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

The England international has reportedly grown frustrated by his shortage of opportunities in the first-team under Maurizio Sarri, leading him to seek pastures new away from Stamford Bridge.

Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and earned himself a place in Gareth Southgate’s 23-man England squad for the World Cup.

He has since struggled to make an impression at Chelsea, however, and speculation surrounding his future has once again resurfaced, with Arsenal and Everton named as potential contenders for his signature.

Loftus-Cheek opted to stay put with the Blues last summer as he aimed to nail down a regular place in the club’s first-team.

However, the promising midfielder has made just one start for Chelsea in all competitions this term, with this appearance coming in the Europa League win against Mol Vidi.
