Bryan Robson has revealed who he believes could be Manchester United’s next captain, stating Paul Pogba has already show he is captain material.
The Frenchman was one of the key reasons his nation are world champions following his outstanding performances in the World Cup.
Pogba’s display in the final in particular was one of his highlights as he got his name on the scoresheet and was named man of the match in the 4-2 win over Croatia.
With Michael Carrick retiring, United’s captaincy is officially up for grabs though Jose Mourinho may opt to hand it to experienced vice-captain Antonio Valencia instead.
Nonetheless, Robson has pointed out he long believed Paul has what it takes to be captain and simply just needs to mature a little to become one.
Bryan Robson: “Paul should come back in great form for next season. I’ve said before Paul is captain material. He just has to take a little more responsibility on the pitch. If he does and matures a bit more then he’s got the ability to be the captain of United.” #mufc [ESPN] pic.twitter.com/54pHvnFlrm

Pogba certainly matured during the World Cup with many praising his tactical displacing and sacrifice for his nation that Bryan must’ve recognised.
If there’s ever anyone to take advice from on what it takes to be a Manchester United captain then surely the former Juventus man should take it from the former captain himself.
It won’t be long before Mourinho announces his new leader but it shouldn’t surprise fans if Paul is named the next man to take the club forward.
