Lazio plan £22m swoop for Chelsea attacker

Chelsea winger Pedro Rodriguez has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Lazio.

According to claims from Italian news outlet La Repubblica, as cited by Goal, Simone Inzaghi’s men would like to sign the experienced Spaniard as a replacement for Felipe Anderson.

The versatile Brazilian attacker recently joined West Ham United in a deal believed to be worth in excess of £40 million, and now Lazio are on the lookout for replacements.

The claims from Italy indicate that Lazio are willing to lodge a proposal worth around £22 million for Pedro, as Inzaghi continues to build his squad ahead of next season.

Pedro’s contract at Stamford Bridge comes to an end in the summer of 2019, indicating that the Blues may look to cash in on the player in the near future to avoid losing him for free at the end of the season.

It’s claimed, however, that the ex-Barcelona star could be a difficult target for Lazio to secure given his current salary at Chelsea.
