Reports suggest that Max Allegri turned down the chance to manage Arsenal after being informed of the possibility of Juventus signing Cristiano Ronaldo (via The Express).
If the potential transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus goes through then it will surely be the biggest of the summer.
The 33-year-old is reportedly the subject of a £83 million offer from the Serie A side with Madrid seriously considering it.
Ronaldo would link up with manager Max Allegri at Juventus, the Italian who was once coveted by Arsenal and, according to reports, the two stories are linked.
“What I’m told is Allegri, the coach, is very keen on the transfer as part of this overhaul of the squad he demanded to remain at Juventus for another season and turn down approaches from Real Madrid and Arsenal this summer,” claimed journalist Duncan Castles.
“It makes sense to spearhead that with Ronaldo, move Higuain on, massively upgrade the attack, add that intensity of desire to win that Ronaldo has.”
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest players in football history so, naturally, any manager in the world would want to work with him. It’s really no surprise that Allegri would make this decision if these reports are true.
