Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed just what he’s most worried about ahead of the new Premier League season, admitting not having all his stars is a concern.
The Portuguese boss is without around half his squad for pre-season due to their exploits with their respective nations at the World Cup.
The likes of Paul Pogba, David de Gea and Romelu Lukaku are all on holiday as they enjoy their time off in order to be fresh ahead of the new campaign.
United have taken a host of young stars to their pre-season tour in the United States of America in order to fill the gap and it’ll offer an opportunity to them to show what they’re made of.
Mourinho though is still concerned about what it means for his main starting XI as he will have to start a crucial season without most of them.
According to Manchester Evening News, Jose said: “My first time at UCLA was in 2004 – it’s like my home. Matic, De Gea and Fred will come next week, but I don’t have all my players.
“I’m not worried about playing against Liverpool or Real or AC Milan, but I am worried because I am not training with all my players. It is what it is and we have to make the best of it.
“It’s maybe good for Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly and Andreas Pereira, just back from loan – I’ll take the positives.”
It’s the former Real Madrid manager’s third season in charge of the club and arguably his most important one due to the expectations placed on him.
The Red Devils will want nothing short of a title win following the huge gap in points between themselves and champions Manchester City last season.
