Mourinho admits Pogba was 'so good' for France

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has admitted Paul Pogba was so good for France at the World Cup but has asked his player to understand just why that was the case.

The Portuguese manager was certainly keeping a close eye on the tournament overall as he was a pundit on Russia Today but there’s no doubt he was watching the Frenchman even closer.

Pogba led his nation to becoming world champions, showing incredible consistently high form and even scoring a goal in the final 4-2 win over Croatia.

Along with the goal the midfielder was nominated man of the match and was truly inspiring in his display to win France’s second ever World Cup.

Mourinho wasn’t shy in praising his player but was more concerned with the need to explain to Paul just why he was so good throughout the tournament.

According to Manchester Evening News, Jose said: “To win the World Cup can only be a positive. It is difficult to say winning the World Cup is not good for a player’s career, I can only imagine it will only be positive.

“I hope he understands why he was very good, that’s the point, for him to understand why he was so good especially in the second part of the competition.”

There’s no doubt Mourinho is talking about what several parts of the media praised Pogba for which is his maturity, discipline and defensive responsibility.

All these attributes are the things the former Real Madrid manager was consistently asking to see more of from the talented midfielder last season.

Hopefully Paul can return to the Red Devils and show the same kind of form on club level so they can potentially win the Premier League title.
