Club confirm deal to sign Chelsea midfielder

Serie A side Atalanta have confirmed that they have signed Mario Pasalic on loan from Chelsea.

The club took to Twitter to announce that the Croatian midfielder has joined the club temporarily.

The deal is believed to be a loan with an option to buy the player permanently at the end of the season.

Pasalic had been with the Chelsea squad in Australia but has since travelled to Italy to complete the move.

The midfielder came off the bench in the second half of Maurizio Sarri’s first game in charge against Perth Glory but does not feature in his plans for the new season.

Recent reports have suggested that the club have been disappointed with his rate of development, following spells with Elche, Monaco, Milan and Spartak Moscow.
