Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso says that new Blues signing Jorginho is helping the squad to adapt to new boss Maurizio Sarri’s playing style, the Evening Standard reports.
Having played under Sarri for three years at Napoli, Jorginho is using his experience and knowledge of Sarri’s team set up to help and advise the rest of the Chelsea squad.
Blues defender Alonso spoke of Jorginho’s help to the club’s website.
He is used to playing this way, and he is going to be a great help for everybody. He is giving us tips to get used to this way of playing.
We are working on a new formation, a new style that he is asking of us. He wants us to press high, he wants the team to be together, to have possession of the ball.
Jorginho signed for Chelsea shortly after Sarri’s confirmed arrival as the new Blues boss, making his first outing in a Chelsea shirt in Monday’s 1-0 pre-season win over Perth Glory.
Jorginho impressed during his 45 minutes on the field alongside fellow midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Ross Barkley.
Sarri’s Chelsea begin their Premier League campaign away at Huddersfield Town.
