Mario Pasalic’s move to Fiorentina has been delayed because of Maurizio Sarri’s arrival at the club.
According to a report from Italian paper Corriere dello Sport, as cited on Calcio Mercato, the new Chelsea boss wants to take a look at all his players before deciding on their futures at the club.
It is yet to be seen if Pasalic could feature for Chelsea this season, but with dozens of players returning from loan spells elsewhere, Sarri will be keen to see what he has at his disposal.
Pasalic has been heavily linked with a move to Fiorentina, with a deal reportedly all but agreed between both clubs.
The Croatian midfielder spent last season on loan at Spartak Moscow, but reports have suggested that his future lies elsewhere.
A loan deal with the option to buy was reportedly agreed with Pasalic failing to do enough to convince the club to keep him beyond the summer.
Pasalic arrived at the club with much anticipation but has been a serial loanee with spells at Elche, Monaco and Milan.
