Manchester United fans couldn’t be more pleased with Eric Bailly’s performance vs Liverpool in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
The Ivorian featured for the first time since being out with an injury and it was clear to see how the team desperately missed him.
Slotting in almost too easily, Bailly’s performance was immense and it’s a credit to him that despite his own goal, supporters are still praising him.
United managed to score all three goals in their 2-1 win over their fierce rivals and while the centre-back made things a little uncomfortable towards the end, he played a huge part in keeping things as it was.
Coming in for Victor Lindelof, Eric showed his teammate just how to play in order to maintain one’s spot in the starting XI.
Bailly can drop a cheeky own goal and no one can chat shit about his performance. What a beast

Don't let the own goal distract you from the fact that Eric fucking Bailly was absolutely immense. You can clearly see from his performance just how much we missed him. Top 3 favorite United players.

Eric Bailly, forcing himself to play on through injury, then making multiple outstanding challenges. Forget the own goal, he was fucking outstanding.

Apart from the own goal, Eric Bailly was absolutely phenomenal today. You wouldn’t have thought it was his first start for Manchester United since November. Absolute beast. Easily one of the Premier League’s best defenders. Just needs to stay fit!

With plenty of competition in the centre-back positions many expect Jose Mourinho to let go of one or two defenders in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are all competing for two spots in the starting XI.
With Mourinho personally investing in the first two names, most fans expect it to be one of the two last names that are to leave Old Trafford.
Smalling’s proneness to errors has made him a scapegoat recently despite his dominating display in Manchester United’s superb comeback win against Crystal Palace.
With Axel Tuanzebe also touted to play a role for the club next season when he returns from Aston Villa, there may be even less room for deadwood.
