Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard was busy discussing the club’s crucial win over Liverpool in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho’s men went into the match in desperate need of all three points if they were to remain in second place.
A loss or even a draw would’ve made things uncomfortable for United with there only being eight games left to the season.
Thanks to Marcus Rashford though things went according to plan as he grabbed the two goals to help his side win 2-1.
In fact the Red Devils scored all three goals with Eric Bailly conceding a silly own goal that thankfully didn’t prove to be too costly.
Lingard: “There’s always going to be rivalry there, We took the three points, that’s the most important thing. We’ve got Champions League next week, we’ve got to concentrate on that.” #mufc [Sky]

Mourinho’s attention will rightly turn towards the Champions League now with Manchester United set to play hosts once more as Sevilla come to town.
The 0-0 result in Spain means the players must avoid a goalscoring draw at all costs with the away goals rule leaning heavily in Sevilla’s favour.
While United weren’t expected to go too far in the Champions League’s latter stages, most will expect them to be able to overcome the La Liga side.
Lingard didn’t get a huge opportunity to make the difference today but he can potentially do so on Tuesday at Old Trafford.
The Englishman has proven his ability to score big goals in big games and the Champions League represents the ideal platform as the Red Devils aim to go as far as they can to soften the blow of missing out on the Premier League title.
