Chelsea make shock enquiry to sign Bayern star

Chelsea and Manchester United have enquired about a deal to sign Thiago from Bayern Munich.

According to ESPN, the Spanish midfielder could be set to leave Munich and has also drawn links to a possible Barcelona return.

Previous reports have suggested that a fee in the region of €70 million would be enough to lure him away from the Bundesliga champions.

Both clubs appear to be in the market for a new central midfielder, with Miralem Pjanic also being linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.

Bayern need to offload midfielders this summer after the arrival of Leon Goretezka and the return of Renato Sanches.

The duo’s arrival leaves them with as many as nine first-team central midfielders.

Thiago joined Bayern back in 2013 from Barcelona and has enjoyed a successful stint with the Bavarian outfit.

During his time at the club he has won five Bundesliga titles, the DFB Pokal, DFL Supercup and the Club World Cup.
