Elseid Hysaj’s agent has confirmed that his client will not be leaving Napoli this summer.
Mario Giuffredi has told Il Mattino, as reported by Football Italia that a summer exit is unlikely, despite interest from Chelsea.
Before leaving for his holidays he was clear: ‘it’s not my priority to leave Napoli’. He has a €50m release clause [valid only for foreign clubs] which expires on July 5, and many clubs ask me how he’s getting on with the Azzurri. I respond to them all that we see him in the Azzurri shirt again next season, even if you know the vagaries of the transfer market are endless.
Hysaj has been one of the many Napoli players to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with Maurizio Sarri expected to take over from head coach Antonio Conte.
The player has a release clause of €50 million and is expected to attract interest during the summer transfer window.
Reports have claimed that Sarri is keen to bring the player to Stamford Bridge with him, with the having a strong relationship.
After playing a three-back formation under Antonio Conte, the Blues do not have a natural right-back to fall back on if Sarri opts to revert to a four-back system.
