Celtic will have to break transfer record to sign Edouard

Celtic have been given a deadline of May 31 to sign PSG player Odsonne Edouard on a permanent deal.

He has been a brilliant addition since signing on loan at the start of the season and the Daily Record are reporting that the deal is looking likely now.

If they are to agree on a deal for the striker then the champions will have to break their own transfer record and pay £10 million to finalise the transfer.

Talks have already begun between the club and the Frenchman’s agent.

The 20-year-old scored 11 goals in 28 appearances, including the winner against Rangers in an Old Firm classic which ended 3-2 to Celtic.

He hinted towards staying at the club with a post on Instagram where he spoke about the club and said it was “the beginning of a long story”.

Edouard missed out playing in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday through injury, but was nonetheless a key part of the treble-winning squad.
