Alan Shearer has claimed that Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku will improve even more following the win vs Swansea on Saturday.
The Belgian was instrumental in his club’s 2-0 win as he scored the opener to help get things going with Alexis Sanchez grabbing the second.
The goal meant that Lukaku has now scored 100 Premier League goals at the young age of 24 and Shearer believes there’s even more to come.
The former Everton man has certainly gotten better since the start of the season with fans witnessing his development in front of their eyes.
Should Romelu continue his fine form then he may conclude the season with more than 30 goals for United across all competitions.
According to the Daily Star, Alan said on Match of the Day: “What I like about Lukaku is that he was rejected at Chelsea, told he wasn’t good enough. He went away, he worked on his game, he improved on a hell of a lot of things.
“Now he’s at one of the biggest clubs in the world. 25 goals this season, he will improve, he will get better. I like him.”
Despite all the criticism thrown his way, Romelu Lukaku has certainly done as well if not better than most Red Devils’ fans expected him to do.
The powerful forward has improved his link-up play and hold-up play tremendously to prove he’s more than just a goalscorer.
Lukaku was previously accused in the past of being a flat-track bully as well as a bit of a poacher and target-man for his size.
However, he’s improved in his link-up play such that he can be considered to be a more complete kind of striker than most give him credit for.
Jose Mourinho has previously praised Romelu for what he brings to the team even when he isn’t scoring as he experienced a small goal drought back in October.
Since then though he hasn’t looked back and started the year in particular fantastically well, looking set to take the World Cup by storm with Belgium.
