Marcus Rashford will be closely monitored by Manchester United’s medical staff after picking up a muscle strain during Saturday’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town, according to reports.
The 20-year-old came on after 71 minutes and felt a strain in the top of his left leg during his cameo, but was able to finish the game.
Rashford has only made four Premier League starts since December and questions surrounding his place in the pecking order under Jose Mourinho have been raised in recent weeks following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.
And according to ESPN‘s Rob Dawson, the Englishman will be monitored over the week to assess the severity of his injury.
Rashford isn’t likely to be out of action for a prolonged period of time given that he was able to successfully finish the game and show no signs of discomfort whilst on the pitch.
The youngster may still be in the nascent stages of his career but has plenty of experience at the highest level, making 123 appearances for club and country in total, and will be no stranger to playing with knocks.
Supporters will just hope that Rashford can continue his record of being the only Man United player to feature in every game this season against Newcastle United.
