Jose Mourinho has hit out at Manchester United’s overly laid back attitude during their 2-1 defeat to Bristol City in the League Cup.
The visitors endured a poor first half, hardly producing anything in the form of clear cut opportunities, and fell behind in the 51st minute.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic equalised with a thunderous free-kick not long after but Man United’s lack of urgency in the final third continued, and they were made to pay for it during the dying stages of injury time.
And Mourinho, speaking after the game, noted that while the Bristol players treated this as their cup final, some United players didn’t look like they wanted to be there.
Mourinho, "For some of us it was like another day in the office and for some of ours they probably didn't even want to come into the office today."

In the midst of a punishing December schedule jam-packed with important Premier League fixtures, this visit to Ashton Gate was played by many on the visiting side out of what, at times, felt like forced necessity rather than any actual desire.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have been bubbling, dangerous sources of attack this season but were sorely predictable and desperately lacking thrust out wide, and the visitors, along with a rusty Zlatan Ibrahimovic, were blunt edged as a result.
United simply didn’t give Bristol the respect they deserved and it cost them dearly.
