Manchester United’s legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson was spotted at Old Trafford as the Red Devils stuttered to a 1-0 win over Bournemouth.
The Cherries travelled to United’s stadium looking to add to Jose Mourinho’s woes after the club’s defeat in the Manchester derby.
Manchester City squeezed past Mourinho’s men with a 2-1 win thanks to two defensive errors and Bournemouth hoped to capitalise on a wounded side.
The Manchester United players though managed to bag all three points ahead of their tricky trip to West Brom in the next Premier League fixture.
United’s only goal of the game came through a well placed Romelu Lukaku header, who will surely feel some pressure lifted off his shoulders as Sir Alex Ferguson watched on.

Ferguson would’ve been pleased to see his former side win in a manner that almost became synonymous with him.
The legendary Scotsman once claimed that 1-0 wins were the victories of champions as it showed a willingness and grittiness to grind out results.
Especially towards the latter of Sir Alex’s career, United often won games despite not performing too well or being easy on the eye.
His ability to win no matter the circumstances is often what made him seem lightyears ahead of other managers.
The defeat to Manchester City would’ve hurt him just as much as it would’ve hurt any supporter, after all, it was Ferguson who called the Sky Blues the ‘noisy neighbours’.
The Red Devils victory helped them keep their place in 2nd position but the gap between themselves and the league leaders remains at 11 points.
