Manchester United are set to make a January move for Juventus’ Alex Sandro after being the green light to go make an offer for the Brazilian.
The left-back has rawn significant issue from Premier League champions Chelsea and the Blues reportedly saw a £65m bid for Sandro rejected by Juventus last summer.
Antonio Conte remains keen to bring Sandro to Stamford Bridge but Man United will create a race to sign the Brazil international after increasing their interest recently.
Juventus were insistent that Sandro would not be sold in summer, rejecting that offer from Chelsea, but with two Premier League clubs now interested and Sandro having his head turned, initially by interest from Chelsea and now also United, the Serie A club may look to cut their losses, according to the Mirror.
Sandro’s form this season in comparison to last has been poor, but that is thought to be down to his mentality after the summer’s transfer rumours.
This is the second left-back that both United an Chelsea have been linked with, but would likely be the first-choice for both Conte an Jose Mourinho. The other is Tottenham Hotspur’s England international Danny Rose.
The Mirror claim Juventus are now ‘likely’ to sell Sandro, meaning a transfer tussle could be pending for January between two of England’s biggest clubs. With two options available, one from within the Premier League and one from outside it, similarities could be drawn to Chelsea and United both going for Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku in summer.
