Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed that he has a “different plan” ready for his side as they travel to Goodison Park to face in-form Everton without Spaniard Alvaro Morata, who is suspended, according to a report on Football London.
The Italian had been without Morata against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League, where he deployed Belgian Eden Hazard as a ‘false nine’ with Willian and Pedro on the wings.
He may have to do something similar against Everton who will be aggressive defensively.
However, Conte could also use Michy Batshuayi as the striker as he will be able to hassle the Everton defence physically more than Hazard.
Conte is till deciding on what he will do without Morata and has revealed that he will continue to think about it over the next 24 hours.
Now I have to prepare a different plan. I have different options and I have another day to make the best decision for the game.
Every single player is in good form. This game is very important for us. I’d like to spend a good Christmas with a good win.
Morata was shown a yellow card against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup quarter-final after celebrating his late winner which rules him out for one fixture for an accumulation of yellow cards.
